Ok... I am looking to get away from my single load digital scale and move into an Auto Dispenser.

I am looking at the:

Charge Master 1500

Hornady Lock N Load

PACT High Speed Digital Precision Dispenser

**Theres about a $100 difference from the Charge Master and the othes..

Let me know which one seems to work the best.

Mine will be for .308 - throwing down RELOADER 15

Thanks
Matt (LEO SOUTH GA)

i bought the hornady had so much trouble i sent it back and they shipped me a new one for free. I put it on ebay and took the money and bought a charge master. Tuned it like the instructions on 6mmbr and now im pist i spent 6 months pissin with that red piece of shit

WTF !!!!!!!!!

They dont do orders with GA, AL, or TN ??? That is according to their web page....

Chargemaster is very good kit. But with the addition of a section of McDonalds straw, it becomes excellent gear. That mod is the best (or atl least the lowest cost) upgrade i've found on the Hide!

I will have to try the straw method after I get one shipped in.

I CANT use Natchez.... they will NOT ship to GA at all....

Back to hunting for a good deal.

Matt.

I love my charge master. I could not imagine reloading without it again. Its great out of the box but after reprogaming you will love it.

I've only used the Pact.

Cons:
- Scale readings fluttered every time the power cord wires were touched or moved until I put ferrite cores on both ends of the dispenser AND the scale power cords.
- The scale takes a bit of time to settle at zero; some have said its because the pan doesn't have a level bottom (wobble). Haven't tested that theory yet.
- With some powders, at some charge weights, at some humidity levels . . . the scale insists on throwing 80% of the charges 0.1gr high. Setting the charge 0.1 lower than the actual target works around that issue.
- In any case, once targeted properly the scale throws 80% or more on target, the rest 0.1gr low. Don't know how this compares with other units.

Pro:
- Trickling the last 0.1gr is easy to do quickly and without going over.

My understanding is the RCBS unit is a tad faster as well, which is useful even if you overlap seating the bullet over Charge#1 with throwing Charge#2.

Bottom line: The issues I have may be related to my unit alone . . . it isn't bad enough to throw away, but if it broke . . . based on what I know now . . . my next try would be the RCBS unit.

I personally went with the hornady unit.. Not because I thought it was any better, but because it was cheaper and times were tight.

It has given me trouble free service for the past 2 years now and while it does sometimes get a bit touchy and acts up like a child, its pretty easy to work with and my loads are constantly in the SD neighborhood of 11 or less for the most part.

That being said though, if this thing breaks, I will be going green for my next dispenser..

I just got the chargemaster and haven't had a second thought. I use rl15 as well and haven't had a single over/undercharge in regards to its accuracy (tenth grain). I performed some of the mods that increase the time it takes on the initial and secondary turn speeds and that helped a ton along with the straw mod.

Its pretty quick and works well.

Also, i have noticed some static buildup but i just grabbed a couple of dryer sheets and wiped down the outside of the cylinder and it seemed to help quite a bit.
