Rem. 700 ADL 24"barrel.Fl sized Win. brass.Rem 9-1/2 primers. 165gr SGK. Ok, shoots tight at 48.6g (avg. .69), group starts to open at 48.9( avg. 1.3"),then gets back under 1" at 49.2(avg. .84"). No pressure signs, measured cases and primers,no extractor marks, smooth bolt function.I can't find much load data for this bullet powder combo,so i'm not sure of max load and with the groups closing should I keep persuing the next node.Greatful for input.

When I started using 2000MR I was loading for the Hornady 178HPBT, using 47.5grs, Win brass, CCIBR primers, then I tried Lapua brass and the 168AMAX with 47grs being pretty accurate, Id say youre right in the ballpark using Win brass, which holds more powder than Lapua brass. Id actually drop your load to 48grs and see what happens, though a .69" group is pretty good for that sporter barrel. Also, load some with 48.3grs. My hunting load is 48grs, Rem brass, WLR primer, 168AMAX. Again, Win holds a bit more powder than Rem, but not by much.

You are probably at a high node with your upper charge. Why would you change if your getting .69" groups? Have you considered another bullet?? Not to be a know it all but a 178 amax will kill animals as good as targets. Let me give you my recipe, 47.8 pp 2000 mr, 178 amax , fgm210m, lapua , win... Whatever I got. Loaded kissing the lands. 2680 out of a 20" ltr

We are talking 308 Win loads here, correct? Have you guys noticed if this powder gives higher velocity numbers generally, than other powders?

My trajectory figures are telling me Im getting 2730 shooting 178s from my 26" SPSS.(47.5grs 2000MR). I think Id blow it up if I tried that with varget.

Yeah, 308 Win. loads. Can't belive I forgot that part. Thanks for the input.I know .69" is not bad for a sporter barrel, but saw the next node possibly coming in and not seeing pressure signs, wondered how close to max I was getting.Accuracy is most important, but,if some added fps will come with it as long as it's safe I won't complain.Know what I mean?

Went up to 49.5g in .1g increments looking for pressure signs.Found none.POI moved down but groups remained .8" to .9" .Deceased chrono no help so not sure of velocity difference between these or my pet load of 45g RL-15 and 165 SGK. POI is same out to 200y with the 45g RL-15 and 48.6 MR-2000.I know thats general but it gives an idea.
