I got this new Savage predator 10 in .260rem. Mounted up a TPS 20moa base and Bushnell 10x 3200 elite mil/mil scope on Burris Ext Tac rings. Loaded up a few rounds for an OCW test and with any luck this thing will shoot like the LRP does. I am still trying to decide between the Manners stock and the Mcree chassis.

These are 142gr SMKs over H4350 in Win 7mm-08 brass necked down. My LRP was best with a max charge of 44.5gr of H4350. I have loaded 41.5gr up to 44.5 grains using the instructions from Newberry's OCW test. I used both a OCW and a ladder before but I think I will try this and then do a ladder test later to verify.

Be careful with them loads. A lot of 260's can't shoot the 140's that hot ... Of course each rifle is different, but don't assume that yours can shoot them. In one of mine, at 43.5 H4350, it starts ruining the brass. Good luck & hope she shoots well.

I noticed the 140s are lighter charges than the 142gr SMKs. The max for the 142s are 44.5

please consider keeping the accu stock on the gun
it is light functinal and durable, the bedding wont get any better on a aftermarket stock too i think

I would be very careful @ 44.5. My 28" shows ejector marks at 43.2 and my 19" starts around 44. They sound a little hot.

Thanks, I am always mindful when working up a load for any of my rifles. The LRP had zero pressure signs at 44.5gr but it may be different in this rifle. I start with the min and work up.

Oh I do plan on shooting it first and if it shoots as good as the LRP I may keep it the way it is but I am really thinking of a chassis type system for it.

I've got the same rifle for my son. I loaded 140gr Amax with H4350 my OCW had two nodes, one at 42grs and the other at 43.5.
Velocities were 2,715 and 2,820. I used Rem. brass, CCI BR 2 primers, base to ogive is 2.2125", altitude is 1,374ft and tempature was 59 degrees.

43.5gr was the highest load but it didn't show any pressure signs at all.

We've taken it out to 750yds and did very good on 10" steel but I would rather have a heavier stock but its my sons and is mainly his hunting rifle.
