I have a brand new 5x25x56 pm 2 that will not illuminate. I changed out the battery and made sure there was nothing keeping the battery from making contact. The instructions dont say much. I just turn the knob correct. Any Ideas?

I wonder if you realize that the Illumination is not daylight visible, did you try it in twilight?

....defect?

I guess it's a factory defect. What sucks is I drove 300 miles round trip o pick it up. Now they are giving me trouble about swapping it out. Last dime I will ever spend at midway. Calling credit card company today.

YES,Now it happens to S&B and NF sometimes with Leupold-a pity.

Please contact me ASAP and we'll get this issue resolved, call or shoot me a pm.
Would the reticle happen to be an H59 or TReMoR2? The small dots do illuminate but are hard to pick up due to their size but should be visible in conditions where you would normally need it.

I returned it . I am ordering a replacement from mile high Monday morning. It was a p4. Mandy at mile high was very helpful finding a replacement unlike Midway .

Slighty off topic but why would you buy such a scope from midway? What was the price?

That leave the rest of us who have read your thread without any kind of resolution. A few things sound a little odd to me. (1) You drive 300 miles to get a scope rather than having it shipped, but you do not play with it enough before leaving the store to find out that the illumination does not work to your satisfaction. (2) After a lot of arguing you blame the store, not the manufacturer of the scope. You return the scope to Midway then order another Schmidt and Bender from Mile High, do I have this correct?

I know that if this were me most is my displeasure would have been directed at the manufacturer not the store where I bought the scope. My next scope would most likely be from a different manufacturer. By the way on my S&B's the turrets are a little stiffer than I like, but other than that the performance is flawless. I am not calling BS on you, but your story would have made a lot more sense in the end if you had sent your scope to Jerry and then posted what he said about it. As things stand I have to wonder what your purpose in this thread was.

Jerry, thank you for responding on this thread. Would it be possible for you to contact Midway and find out if on their inspection the illumination on this scope works or if it needs to be repaired?

Anyone with the same problem: 1. Test the battery with a volt meter and replace if the voltage is less than 3 volts. 2. Make certain the battery is oriented correctly in the holder.

I am 2 hours from midway. It did not work at store . The return department does not take things back in person. They could not just swap it out. Price was the same at euro optics who was out of stock decided to drive and get it.

For the doubters.

Notice the extra batteries. If Jerry wants to contact midway that's fine. Pretty sure the will remember the pissed off guy. Not a knock at S&B in any way. More pissed at midway for not swapping it out since I am leaving town for a month next week and wanted to play with a new rifle. Should I have mile high test this one before they next day air to me. :)

So you saw, while you were at Midway getting the scope, that it did not work. Then attempted to do something about it, and they stone walled you. This is very disquieting. Were this me, I would have made Midways poor customer service the issue in my first post. The way I read your initial post, your main issue was simply that the illumination did not work.

My post was to see if there was any thing else I could try. The main issue to me is scope was not turning on and have a limited amount of time before I leave town for awhile . Not some min wage customer service idiots at midway. But yes Larry and his company can catch all aids for all I care. The fastest route for me was to return it and have another next day aired to me.

Midway, poor customer service, say it ain't so. I still buy from them though. I think that says more about their vast inventory than anything else though. I certainly don't have the warm fuzzies.

Did you really just wish the AIDs virus on Midway's staff on a public forum? Damn, If so you are a solid douche bag!

Shows how pissed is was /am the scope was 5 min old. Every moron I talked to could only say " I can't do that from here ". The returns dept. was 50 feet away .
