Some guy at the range shooting next to me, got to yakking between sessions, had similar tastes in AR's, urged me to shoot his M4 with a Gsissele trigger, I was wrapping up for the day so I said what the heck, and shot a few rounds. Until now I have been pretty happy with my RRA trigger, not so happy with the DPMS 308 trigger, now I got to have this trigger in my AR's. I like the 2 stage which this one was, its smooooooth, great break, and good feel on the finger. Which one should I get? They have many different models, can they all fit both guns?
 
If I've said it (typed it) once, I have done it 1k+ times...once you get behind a Geissele trigger, you'll never want any other trigger in your AR-type rifles again!!

As for the specific model, only you can make that call based on your particular likes/dislikes, wants/needs, whether you want an adjustable or fixed trigger, etc., etc. Bill has a very nice break-down/summary of his triggers available on the Geissele Automatics website that gives a good description, weights of pull, etc. My suggestion is to start there and narrow your choices. The Geissele triggers CAN be used across platforms, including both AR-15 and .308 ARs, so you can outfit BOTH of your rifles with identical triggers if that's what you want.
 
Three out of my four ARs have Geissele's, and if the RRA NM ever takes a dump on me, then I'll replace it with another Geissele. IMO, there isn't a better AR trigger made. The other side of this is that whatever you put Geissele's in, you're more likely to get a premium for that gun if/when you sell since it saves the buyer time and money replacing the stock trigger anyway.
 
Expensive mistake!
I have the SSA, G2S, and SD-E triggers in different rifles and love each of them. Of the three, the SD-E is my favorite. I really like the feel of the flat trigger, and it breaks beautifully on every shot. The SSA and G2S are advertised to have the same feel and function, but the G2S is about $50 less expensive because it is manufactured differently. I cannot feel a difference between the SSA and G2S, so if you're looking to save a little money on this, you might give the G2S a look.
 
Yep, they rock. I went with the SSA-E on my recce rifle and it makes me smile every time I squeeze it! The second stage is very light, for a cqb battle rifle id probably go with the regular SSA. You'll never go back!
 
I just got the Tricon and I like the trigger shoe on it. Break is the same as the SSA but it's straighter (but not straight) and has serrations. The break feels more like the SSA-E due to the trigger design. The G2S is also a good option. The break is the same as the SSA but the pin retaining clip is a different design but it keeps the cost lower. Unless you're pulling the triggers out a lot, the G2S will be just fine.
I've got the SSA, G2S, DMR, SSA-E, SD3G, S3G and the Tricon.

You are done now! I changed out all my rifles after I felt one. Luckily it was at shot show last year, se they had a great deal. Worth every penny too.
 
I am not going to try one! Nope won't do it... Though I already have plans to put one in my 18" AR15 build I am working on. I have the feeling it's going to cost me 3x as much as I will want to replace the triggers in my other two AR's.
 
Every AR I own has a Geissele of some sort in it. Best triggers I've tried, but it can get expensive putting them in your guns if you have a bunch of them!
 
It reminds be when i used to have my bush scope then my friend let me peeked on his Nf now i got 4 nf:) i got match gies and dmr and also SSA i still have two RRA nm.. im on the same boat im just waiting for "tiny" reason to replace my RR trigger to gies..theyre like a jewell on bolt action.can never go wrong and can never go back once you lay your finnger on it
 
I too made that mistake and now own an SD-E, and a G2S. My lady friend is rocking an SSA in her SPR build.

As for which model you should get it kind of depends on your intentions for the gun. I run the SD-E in my precision .308 which spends most of its time on the bench or in the prone position as it weighs as much as a Mini Cooper, and is a $@^& to run around with.

I like the pull on the G2S for my HD carbine. Some would say it is too light but for my purposes it is perfect. I don't put my finger on the trigger without the intent to shoot so it's a moot point for me.

What are your intentions for your weapon?

This is exactly what I did and I am very pleased with the results. SSA in my LMT CQB and an SSA-E in my Mega/Krieger precision rig. Will be using them in all my builds going forward.
 
SD-E in my GAP-10 and SSA in my 300BLK SBR. Another example of the hide providing great info but costing me more money. As someone said above, the SD-E flat blade trigger feels great and breaks really nice. I would have gone that route in the SBR but could not find one anywhere.
 
Went from a stock mil-spec trigger in my Armalite to an SSA-E... This is all I have to say about THAT.

I've got an SSA-E in my 18" DMR 6.8 by AR15Performance and have two SSAs waiting for me when I return from deployment for a pair of Palmetto State Armory 5.56 carbine length MOE builds I'm doing. I ordered an SD3G from Larue today, just cause I'm about out of dillo dust! Once you start, it's hard not to replace ALL the triggers in your ARs.

Im very happy with my ssae but I'd really like to try one of the flat trigger shoes. Another great trigger is the ALG ACT with jp low power springs. Not as good as geisseles regular triggers but pretty darn good for 1/4 the price.
 
they seem expensive until you shoot one then you are totally sold. I have High Speed Match triggers in my Service Rifles and I am going to put a SSA-E in my SBR...
 
If you're thinking of getting the SSA-E maybe look into the SD-E instead.
 
After talking to them on the phone I went with the SD-C and I'm glad I did, excellent trigger for my needs.

Give them a call and hear what they say in addition to what you get here.
 
After using Geisellen triggers for a few years I can't stand firing a rifle with a stock trigger. I have bought so many from Bob directly I get swag in every box that comes. Hats, shirts, stickers you name it. LOL You can rarely find a lower price on other sites than Bob offers on his site so why bother. He controls the stock and always ships within 24 hours. My current rifles have SSA-E's, SD-E's and I did try the new G2S which is nice for the price. I sold off all my Timney's. Never tried a Jard or RRA and see no reason to. One of my Rifles does have an American Trigger Corp AR Gold which I really like and think is the only real competitor to Geiselle.
 
Geez, I just got off the phone with my son who ran in to a guy at the range who had....and he fired...and now the kid (28) is telling me he is changing all his triggers out, and wants to know if we can do one in our "father-son" AR-10 BTNF.
The dang rifle only has about 60 rounds downrange, we just last month got the scope and mount.
I was just getting used to the factory 2 stage, and like it better than most factory triggers.
This kid...now you guys. :D

I have one in each AR. For me there is no other trigger. I have the DMR and the SSA-E. They are expensive but in the AR platform the trigger and barrel are where accuracy live.
 
Just sold one of my RRA nm trigger here few days ago.guess what! I ordered me sd3g know opening this thhread was a bad idea! Lol

Could be worse....All Geissele's could be priced like their Super SCAR trigger. LOL

If Geissele makes a trigger for it, it's on my rifle.
 
Geissele's are the end all trigger's for me. Any AR I own will have one...eventually. Currently I have a DMR Match, and a Super Scar.
 
I just finished building my first large frame AR and I chose the Geissele Match trigger. I am fortunate to have a brother with quite a few different AR rifles that all have different triggers; one being a Geissele. I had the opportunity to try them all out and there was absolutely no comparison. The other triggers were all high end triggers as well. If I build another AR; you can bet thats what I will buy again. A little spendy, but worth it.
 
Last weekend at a gun show, a dealer had try out setups of various Geissele triggers.

A Match DMR followed me home.
 
Are Geissele's more of a match trigger or do they work for AR15 combat applications as well?

They have about 12 different models. Most are combat oriented. Look at their website.

I have two SD-E, but for a HD rifle I think I would go with the SD-C. I really like the increased tactile feel of the flat trigger shoe.
 
Oh yeah, you just changed your life for sure. I'm in the process of making the switch. I have one in two of my AR's, and putting one in a lower I'm building. I don't think I can go back to the regular stock crap triggers. And man you're going to see a HUGE difference in the performance of your DPMS 308. That's one of the grittiest triggers there is.
 
Bought 4 Geissele's for our guns, 3 SSA's and an SSA-E. A friend has SSA's in his guns and I've shot them extensively. Made the mistake of installing the SSA-E first.

Now I'm debating getting at least one more SSA-E instead.
 
After looking at their website, it looks like the SSA-E or the SD-E are the ones that fit my use best. Is there any advantage to a straight trigger over a curved one?
 
The SD design sensitizes the trigger's pull to the naked touch. Essentially it works to lighten the pull by perception vs. reality. SSA-E feels like 3.5-4lbs......SD-E feels more like 3-3.5lbs.

Imho, the SD-E is a superior design to the SSA-E. Both are truly fantastic triggers, the SD-E just feels better at least in my book.

like i said last time sold RRA got me SD3G..dang somebody ned to stop me dry firing!!!everyone was comp[laining about being too light..geissele fixed that problem sending 2 diff spring one is 3.5 and other one is 4.5 (default) i never bothered trying the ligher spring im good on 4.5lb i put her on test yesterday..i shouldve reload more ammo before going to the field:)
