Ive been waiting 4 months for my Mini Sass to arrive. Ive emailed my dealer a couple times and never got any info other than (I don't know).. I realize the market right now, but I have a hard time dealing with a 12-16 month wait time for a 556. So I emailed DPMS myself and got this reply...

All rifles are 12-18 months out from the date of order if ordered directly from DPMS

Anyone know where I can look for something in stock?

Sorry, yea I guess I could have given some details..
I want a Semi-Auto precision 556. I don't want to build one, just buy one. I have a US Optics 1.8x10 that I will be putting on it. I want a barrel longer than 16". The Mini Sass seemed perfect for what I was looking for. But a year wait time? I will be doing mostly target shooting and small game and varmint hunting.

if you don't want to build your own and you just want a factory rifle,,, then you would most likely have better luck keeping an eye on Kentucky gun company or Bud's (maybe even with email notification), than ordering direct from the rifle company.... their orders and their distributor's orders will be fulfilled way before your order and you will most likely get a better price to boot..... well, maybe 1year ago you would've received a better price... not sure now...... I would even keep an eye for a good deal to pop up on gunbroker, but you really need to do your research before you purchase.

for the money and for what you get, the rock river ATH is one heck of a rifle and with your scope idea it would be perfect IMO... i would jump all over this rifle if you could get it for about $1299 or maybe even in today's prices of $1399...... this guy has it listed buy right now for $1499 which is just OK even with today's crazy prices:

18" stainless steel 1:8 twist barrel (can take a little bit heavier bullet)! big fan of this set up! maybe even pop in a little bit better trigger down the road... can take pmags! not bad for under $1500 dollars. huge fan of rock river rifles.

I read about the S&W M&P10... you can try to see if it is going to be available soon and hopefully in enough quantity's for you to be able to pick one up.
    MSRP of $1250, 18" 1/10 twist barrel.
Look it up, you might like it and can try it out.

I own 2 Rock River Arm 5.56's and both are tack driver shooting well under 1" 5 shot groups @ 100 yards. They shoot as well as my 2 Noveske's. I would take a look at them.

Also don't forget the Local Gun Shows if there's any coming up. It might be priced a bit high but then again, you'll get the Satisfaction of taking it home with you the same day! I'm sure there's at least one or two good deals out there!

    Good Luck Bro!

I agree 12 to 18 months is a deal breaker for me too, love DPMS but if they can't hire enough staff to put out enough guns in this environment in say 6 months then they are going to lose business to those that can
