Rifle Scopes Night Force ATACS Vs. Night Force NXS

I had the chance last weekend to do a side by side comparisons of the 2 scopes under cloudy dark conditions. I was really surprised at how much more clear and light emitting the ATACR was compared to my NXS. Even though I'm not going to be replacing my NXS, I left feeling like I have old foggy glass compared to him. just my .02

Some folks said NF ATACR was nice as S&B

The new Multi Coated ED lens was awesome just wait for the FFP of BEAST.

Chris, FFP aside, it would be nice to see other reticle options, although the two offered are very practical. The other issue I have is magnification range. I have absolutely no need for 25x, outside of a spotting scope. The 15x on my NSX is plenty, sometimes overkill. But I also don't shoot 1500+ yds. I think it seems like a great scope, I'd like to see that glass and tube body on existing mil-spec F1

When you hunt places that have very long distances to see a scope with high power also serves as a spotting scope. You can always turn it down when not needed. I have both scopes. Love my NXS scopes but like the glass much better on the Atacr. It is heavy but the glass I think is as good if not better than my S&B

I concur with the previous posts. I own a NXS, ATACR and a small S&B (Short Dot II) the ATACR is neck and neck with the short dot on clarity. The ATACR is probably the best value out there right now for a NIB optic with top tier glass. The NF B.E.A.S.T. is coming out soon and is touted to have even better glass on a FFP rig. Hard to believe but as we say... Send it.

That is not true. Both have ED glass but completely different prescriptions.

I stand corrected. From what you said in another topic, the way I understood it was they have the same glass.
