I ordered some powerder from Powder Valley on 03-25-13.t was supposed to be delivered per the UPS tracker this past Thursday. At 8:00p, I called UPS and was told it would be delivered later in the night. It wasent. Yesterday, I worked from home again to recieve shipment (tracker stated 04-26-13) and as the UPS guy delivered something else he informed me he didnt have the powder and no other trucks were going to be coming thru my neighborhood. I again called UPS (a call center in Guatemala) and they told me it was my job to inform Powder Valley to start an investigation. I then called Powder Valley and asked them to reship my original order AND i WOULD AGAIN PAY FOR IT and I would either buy the original order if it ever shows up or return it but at least I could get the powder ordered. The woman at PV said she would have to talk to the boss as they were moving and never called back. It appears from the response of Powder Valley and UPS Im just out of luck. I think both companies are a bit lacking in the customer support service.

I do not doubt you, but I wonder if you should not take a deep breath, slow down, back up, and call a local UPS supervisor. I bet you get your powder by Wednesday. They just had a driver who could not find your address or some such nonsense. Good luck.

I feel for you, hopefully just a UPS screw up and your powder shows up Monday. I do think that powder valley is absolutely swamped right now, but still no excuse for poor CS. Like don said, call the local UPS distribution center, and talk to a supervisor, should get you straightened out.

FedEx delivered my powder valley shipment this week. Maybe they switched..

I get my PV shipments from both UPS and FedEx. They use both.

I got a shipment that was delayed by a day or so not long ago. The LAST person to ask is the Driver.

Frankly I think PV is doing a remarkable job considering the lunacy that abounds today. OK, it took them just over a month to ship some bullets they had in stock but they came through just exactly like the notice on their website said they would.

I have had no problems with PV but have had issues with UPS and have seen posts around here of firearms related stuff going missing. What sucks is that these items are so hard to get that if is is "lost" then you cannot always get a replacement shipped. Personally I wish anything firearms related would just get shipped in plain boxes with no company labels. Hope it shows up bud!

Have you got your powder?

All,
I just received the powder on Friday. It was late 1 week and 1 day from original tracker delivery date. The box was beat up and torn but when I looked inside merchandise was fine. You would think with all the stickers on it that it would have been handled with care. The explanation I received is that because it was Haz-Mat it was placed in a different area of the receiving area at UPS and I did not do my job to inform them that it was a hazardous material. I wonder what I paid extra for ya know?

Sounds like a bunch of yahoos at the local UPS store weren't doing you any favors. It is clearly marked as hazmat, but am glad you got your components after all. Better late than never.

The whole Hazmat thing is bullshit. What the fuck do they do that is so much more "careful"? I received a box of a few thousand primers a few months ago and in the box was A)primers and B) crumpled up brown paper. For the $27.50 I want my primers wrapped in a waterproof, heat resistant baby's diaper made out of Victorias Secret's used panties.

never, ever talk to a UPS or fedex driver, they don't know squat and are too much of a hurry to help at all plus CS isn't their job either. Call a supervisor and have all your tracking numbers ready at hand and most importantly, stay cool and be courteous to people trying to help you.
cheers.

That's not actually true, at least out here in the country where I live I know both my UPS and my USPS carriers by first name. Both take good care of me.

That said, talk to anyone who has worked in a UPS center sorting packages and loading trucks. It is an over night mad house with less than motivated union workers. My wife did it in college and she says it really could be almost like the old "I Love Lucy" routine where the belts run faster than you can keep up with loading. (In many places they use college students working nights). You do realize "Fragile" is a French word pronounced "fra gi' le" and roughly translated means "Kick me"?

They have to get thousands of packages on the trucks, and HAZMAT is handled differently. I'm sure it doesn't run on the belts with the rest of the boxes from Amazon and Tires Direct. It got stuck in a corner, someone missed the notification to put it on the truck, and once it was missed the first night it was forgotten for a while.

Same here. My UPS guy knows me well. He couldn't find 22LR to go shoot with his son. Fixed him right up. Donation well used. I've ordered from PV and currently have orders in place, they have been very good to deal with. A couple days ago they had 208GR Amax in stock finally

Powder Valley rocks 100% of the time........in my area UPS is awesome and FedEx blows.

It's a crap-shoot, baby!

It wasn't a PV order, but I had UPS lose a box for 2 weeks a few years ago that contained about $2500 worth of custom car parts. When I finally got word that the box was at my local center, I drove down and was shown a box that looks like it had fallen out of the truck and sat in the rain for two weeks. They said if I opened the box to check the contents that I would remove all their liability because I had "accepted it" at that point. Lucky for me, I was able to reach into the GAPING FUCKING HOLE and pull the parts out to check them without "opening" the box. Assholes.

Actually hazmat packages are handled a bit differently than your normal everyday package. While they are placed in the truck, they have to be segregated by non hazmat packages and placed no higher than waist level.

If your package is unloaded or is discovered during transportation to not have hazmat shipping documents or papers, it's progress is stopped until that issue can be resolved. Most likely a set of new shipping documents.

If you feel that your package is misdelivered, call your local center. Don't waste your time calling the 1-800 line.
