Cleaned my 6 Creed after I tested some loads today, 23 shots total, ran 3 patches of Hoppes #9 thru it and let it sit while I did some reloading, after about 40 mins I ran a clean patch down the tube and didnt really see any blue on the patch, all I really got was carbon color on the 2nd wet patch of Hoppes, pretty happy so far, shouldnt have to clean it as often as my buddy cleans his BR rig. On top of that the rifle shot under .5moa out to 200yds in not so calm conditions.

Sounds great but I never get cooper with #9. I use Butch's for that but I had the same thing with my last (2) Barlein 6.5 & 7WSM no cooper after my first patch and both shoot .4 or less. Enjoy!

My 6mmREM is good for getting the patch blue, really blue, used Hoppes on that rifle as well as Butch's.

I think people obsess over barrel cleaning way too much. I received a new .308 a few weeks ago with a Bartlien barrel. I cleaned the bore when I received it just to make sure there was no debris, metal, or dirt in it from the smithing and coating process. I currently have 269 rounds down that tube and I have not cleaned it at all. I have shot FGMM in it as well as handloads with 155 and 168 hybrids. The rifle shot .5 MOA at 600yds a couple days ago.......without ever being cleaned since the first shot. I also have a 6.5 with a Bartlien barrel on it and it currently has 437 rounds down it without a cleaning. The rifle has a total of just over 1,100 rounds down it and it is a sub .5moa rifle. I'm just going to keep shooting them until I see signs of actually needing to be cleaned.

If you absolutely want to see some copper shoot a bunch of Barnes x bullets down it!!! Congrats on the new rig.. I have 2 Bartleins and another on the way. My Bartleins and Rocks both clean super..

Yes, I believe accuracy should be the biggest determining factor in when to clean...If accuracy has not dropped off...shoot away.

I run 2 or 3 patches through mine (in .308) after every outing (at least 100 rounds an outing)... and it shoots great even after having close to 2K rounds through it so far.

I honestly thought it was kinda weird till I saw this thread pop up... I am not alone, lol!

Its not just the barrel but also the rifle smith and his technique for getting a smooth throat in the chamber.

My bartlien coppered bad for about 125 rds, then it settled out. I use boretech and i have proven to my friends how good it is on copper by getting a blue patch from their freshly cleaned barrel that was cleaned out with hoppe's or proshot or even butch's. My Krieger barrels have all shown little to no copper, done by the same Smith that did my bartlien. They all shot stellar.
