Gunsmithing Any tips for removing Sako thread locker?

I just got done removing the factory rail from my TRG42 in preparation for a Near 25MOA rail installation. I guess I've never encountered such a hellish threadlocker as the concoction that Sako uses on those screws. It seems to be resistant to all forms of solvent, heat and torque. I finally ended up drilling the screws out and fortunately only put a couple of small nicks in the threads. I've ordered a 3.5x.6 tap to clean them up before installing the new rail.

My question now is how to get the residual resin off of the top of the receiver. On the 42, the Near rail stops about an inch short of the barrel, so some of the old residue will show if not cleaned off. I've tried various solvents, warming it up, fine Scotchbrite pad, bronze brush, etc. Nothing really seems to be getting it clean. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mike

If you want you can heat it with a propane torch. Any plastic/epoxy based thread locker will change state well before the temp get to high to hurt the action. Then you should be able to remove it with ease.
