DTA 22" 308 Loads?

Don't know what components you have available but for my rifles I go directly to a 175 gr Nosler or Sierra BTHP, a Lapua case, CCI BR-2 Primer, and 43.5 gr of Varget, all assembled to 2.800"

Sometimes this load shoots so well I don't need to bother with any further workup or is it is needed only small adjustments are necessary.

Same combination with 168 gr bullets only with 44.4 gr of Varget.

Just recently got some Lapua 170 gr Lock Base bullets. In my 5-R Milspec they are super with Fed GMM primers, Lapua brass, and 47 gr of CFE223, assembled at 2.830"

Just a couple that really work well for me. Each load shoots .3 MOA average.

What projectile and powder do you plan to use? I've got some good loads worked up for my 22" DTA barrel using 155 scenars, 185 lapua D46 BTHP and 175 SMK. I use RL15 and/or Varget for various loads.

Right now I have:

Bullet: 175gn HTBT Sierra
Powder: 44.5gn Varget
Primer: CCI -200
Brass: Lapua
Set To: 2.255"

I have had good results. Going to refine it a little more to see what I can squeeze out of it.

I also have some 155gn I want to try also.

Using the 175 SMK seated .000 from the lands and 42.5 of Varget I'm getting 2560fps and well under .5 MOA with Lapua brass and federal 210m primers.

For the 155 scenars, I'm using 45.6 of Varget, seating them .000 to the lands using Lapua brass and fed 210m primers. I'm getting 2830fps and just under .5 MOA.

168 SMK. FGMM once fired brass, fed 210 primer, 42.5 gr. Of 4895, 2.800 length. Shoots very good in my gun, personally have not had good luck with Varget.

MIKE407, thanks for the 155 load. Just got my first box of 155's can't wait to try them after I get done with my 175's. What are you liking better?

I really like the 155 scenars. They have a great bc and you can push them fast. I actually have a load for them using RL15 that gave me better results than the Varget load. I'll send it your way if you ever want to try them with RL15.
