New Nightforce spotting scope?

I hope they have one at NRA, would love to look through one.

I thought Lowlight posted on this on FB.

Stating that out of the gate....there's no reticle to be had.

It will arrive later.

No reticle=no thanks!

No reticle? Now that price is even more ridiculous. Looks like Leupold is the only one that figured out how to put a mildot on a spotting scope. Bushnell use to have one that went for $300, wish I would have bought that when I had the chance. I am a big fan of Bushnell glass.

I did get AC chance to look at it at the NRA convention. From what I could tell it is an outstanding piece. Very clear and the tripod it comes with is very sturdy. Not sure how it will at long ranges but it's very nice.

I don't believe the tripod is included.

I really wish I could have set the NF side by side with a Razor HD and a Swaro. From what I could tell (moving from the Vortex booth to the Nightforce booth) the NF was MUCH easier to get a full field of view in and the glass seemed to be a little better. Again, really hard to tell without them side by side in indoors. I think overall, minus the missing reticle at this time, this is a very nice spotter. I would prefer the NF to the Razor hands down if a reticle was available for the NF.

For that much money you could buy a used NF 12-42 scope! Have a reticle...have useable glass for spotting....and have a weapon scope for sending the message.

USO!

HEY USO!

FIX YOUR FIELD SPOTTER'S RETARDED EYE RELIEF! THERE'S ZERO REASON LEUPOLD SHOULD BE KICKING YOUR ASS!

Agree. I have one with the IPHY reticle. Really like the scope but the eye relief makes viewing difficult

Vortex sells a fixed 30X with mil reticle, I run one, much brighter than the variable eye piece (even at 20X) and - as the name implies - much wider field of view.

I looked at the NF at the booth last weekend, seemed nice, decent glass (from what I could tell, given the conditions) but I won't be selling the razer to buy one.

I was trying to buy my first high end spotting scope b/w Swaro 80 ATS HD and NF extreme HD. But i couldn't find any review or personal use with NF extreme HD. Does anybody can compare b/w the two?

It hasn't been released yet, the NightForce Extreme HD. And if you're wanting a reticle in your spotter, the NightForce doesn't have one.

This has probably been posted elsewhere....but the new NightForce spotter sure looks like the Meopta S2. Looking at the specs and the scope itself.....other than the color of the rubberized armor coating...it's the same scope. More to the point....Meopta has an eyepiece with a reticle for their 75mm spotter. It very well be the case that eyepieces with reticles for the 82mm scopes have not hit the streets yet.

I just received my NIB S2 82mm HD scope a couple of days ago. I'm extremely pleased with this scope and it's optical performance. Might be an option for guys to look at...to save a few bucks. Street price for the S2 with either the 30-60X or the 20-70X eyepiece seems to be @ $2199...I think the NF would be right there or slightly higher because of the branding. Either way...these are pretty amazing scopes for the money.
