I have a GAP-10 on order. I am trying to decide in what glass to put on top. The gun is a 308 with the 20 inch barrel. I would like to choose a scope that will be capable out pasted 1000 yards. My budget is $2500. What scope should I choose??

THANKS!!

Agreed, the HDMR would be a great value coming in about $1100 under your budget, or if you are wanting to spend up most of your budget, a few excellent options are:

Nightforce ATACR 5-25x
Leupold Mark 6 3-18x
March FFP 3-24x
Vortex Razor 5-20x
Premier LT 3-15x
USO 3.2-17x
IOR 6-24x

If you decide to save some money, the SWFA SS 5-20x, Vortex Viper PST 6-24x, and Sightron SIII 6-24x would all be excellent as well. To me, any of these have good enough glass to shoot very long range, just depends on the features you want.

I would recommend the Leupold Mk 6 3-18, I have one on my 22'' GAP10 creedmoor, and it has been worth every penny. Awesome glass, turrets are the pinch and turn type (which is really handy), and the 3x low end is really useful when a coyote runs you over. I'll never sell mine.....

I have the Mark 6 3-18 H58 waiting to be put on my GAP-10. Hoping to get it this month

You can't go wrong with the Bushnell. Rugged and spot on. German glass is clearer though.

ccoker, Is the Khales in that price range?

The Kahles K312II is an awesome scope and my personnel favorite as a go to scope. Retails at $2443.

Let me know if you would like any photos through the scope. I have one mounted on a DTA SRS Covert in 338 and shoot it regularly

I like my Nightforce 5.5x22 56mm in MOAR reticle. Great glass in my price range and the HS with Zerostop are worth the little extra. I would go with the newer ATACR with MOAR if I were buying now. Sportoptics.com carries them and give a hide discount plus free shipping, give them a call and ask for Scott or Chris and they will hook you up. Good luck on your choice and have fun with the new baby!

Bushnell HDMR on top of my LR-308 and the glass is first rate. The only minor criticism I have of the scope is that the locking turrets will not index after a lock/unlock. Based upon a call to Bushnell, when you unlock it you need to know what revolution you're on. It will not automatically return to the last position.

Thanks for all the comments. Could you guys rate these based on the clarity of the optic. Thanks guys!!

I don't have experience behind all of them, but those I do, I will list.

1. March
2. Premier
3. USO
4. Leupold
5. Nightforce
6. Vortex

That is if you are rating them by pure optical clarity.....Nothing else.

running a NF F1 on my MWS. 16" 308, 21" SS 308 hammer and a 24" 6.5 Creedmoor that is looking like it's going to be a tack driver.
