I just dated my rem 700 and turns out it was made in 1962. I was going to use this reciver for an m24 build. It is an adl with a custom walnut stock and has the iron sight holes in the side. Would you guys build it or keep it as is. I do not need another deer rifle. Ps the bold knob is worn and the rust bluing is comming off in a few places. Thank you.

If you feel like is has sentimental value, I would keep it as is. Maybe get it blued again and fix up the bolt handle.

If no sentimental value to you, I would do whatever you want to it, as long as the action is sound (which it probably is). If the stock is custom, and still in reasonably good shape, you could sell it to put toward your M24 build.

Agreed with above. Unless this is Grandpas gun or is some stories piece, it is one of millions made. Make it what you want and turn it into an heirloom.

No sentimental value at all I found it at a pawn shop for 499. Talked them down to 300.
I would never mod grandpas guns!
