I'm looking and shooting some 123 Amax's out of my .260 using H4350. I'm currently shooting the 142 SMK's over 43.5gr of H4350. Anyone have a good starting load for these? (Yes I searched diligently).
Thanks for the help.

Also on Hodgdon's site. They don't list a 123grn bullet but do list 120 and 125grn bullets.
120 GR. SPR SP Hodgdon H4350
Min 43.5 2814 51,400 PSI
Max 46.5 2960 58,200 PSI
125 GR. NOS PART
Min 41.0 2714 50,900 PSI
Max 44.3 2867 57,900 PSI
In Louisiana it is 500'. I can only imagine how much faster they would be in you region. Depending on where you are here you could be below sea level in New Orleans. ..... SEMPER FI!its like 1-2.5k ft maximum unless you go to eastern oregon then its a lot higher up and I was in the mountains shooting during the weekend and it was like 1690ft

Frank, i have been doing some tests with Superformance Powder and have gotten some very good velocities with vg groups out of one of the 30" 8.5 tw. Bartlein barrels. I first shot the 120 A-Max with a grouping in 1/4" and 3100+ fps. No pressure signs with bullet 12 thou. out. Can't get that good with H-4350 or 4831 in mine. I want to try heavier but right now the bullets are scarce in my location. What i did was reference off of the Creedmore cartridge as there is no load data for the .260 with that powder. You might want to try it one day. Good luck and thanks for the reply. ............ SEMPER FI!Your welcome! But I'm just one guy in the equation! It's a team effort!
My loads where chronographed and I"m at an elevation of 1100'.

Don't really know if it is double base or not. Alli know is that it really shoots good. It is somewhat like H-414. It probably is but as long as it shoots that good with the velocity i'm getting i'm happy. Thanks for your reply. .....SEMPER FI!Your welcome Sargesniper!
I'm kinda guessing but is the superformance powder double based? If so I tend to shy away from the double based powders. They are harder on barrels and the barrels will wear out sooner. That's the trade off for getting the extra velocity etc....

In the hornady manual they say to run the 120s,123s, and the 129s the same. But there is no listing for H4350. I run 44.4
Yes they do not want to give anything toward the .260. Maybe they are afraid it will steer people away from the CM cartridge of their's. I wanted to try the Superformance Powder in my .260 with Hdy's 120 gr. A-Max. So all i did was reference off of the CM and really was surprised at the speed and accuracy i got with it. Can't blame Hdy. for not publishing the data though. They are just protecting their own cartridge. The .260 really shines with this powder. I'm waiting to get some heavier bullets and see what this powder and heavy bullets will do. .....SEMPER FI!
Well 44.7 got them to about 2940 in my 22" barrel. Seems like a lot of powder but 0 pressure signs so far.
I ran a ladder through the 44gr range and that 44.7 bugholed them at 100. I'll move it out a bit further and see what they do
That's moving right along, what load and velocities were you seeing with 142's out of the Melonited 22" barrel?
I shoot the 142's at 2780 fps. It's a little slow but extremely accurate
Hey Sargesniper, will you post a little of your info on using Superformance with the heavier bullets when you get it? I have a 260 and love it. I shoot 140 Bergers at 2865 FPS using 45.2 grains of H4831sc. Maybe it is silly to try something different when what I do shoots so well but hey, if you can't have fun with it, what's the sense of doing it? Thanks
Hi Frank, I know this was a really old post, but I ran across it looking for a 123 Scenar / 123 ELD load out of a .260 gasser. Is your load above a bolt or semi? Do you run it suppressed? Do you recall what sort of speeds you got with that 44.0 load? TIA.I run 44.0gr. with my 120's and 123's out of my .260Rem. with H4350 powder.

I ran that load out of a bolt gun. Out of a 24" barrel if I remember correctly it was giving me right at 2900fps. To confirm that I'd have to pull out my data book but it's at home.
