I know its not the Z6 but this fits my budget much better. This will go on a .300 win mag hunting rifle that I hope to have built a year from now. I starting this part of the process early because its just so damn fun!
Rifle Scopes Thoughts on Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 with Ballistic Turrets?

You can't go wrong with a Z5. They are all great scopes, the Z5 just has a 5X erector instead of a 6X on the Z6. Other than that same glass and quality.
I wouldn't buy the ballistic turret model, it will leave you with nothing to hold wind, you will be forced to dial one more thing in the heat of the moment (I assume you will be using this for medium to long range hunting). I much prefer their BRX reticle over the turrets, it's mil based so you simply make a dope chart for your drop in mils. It gives you wind brackets at the reticle should get you to 750-900 yards with a 300WM depending on what load you go with. What would be nice is if they sold scopes with the ballistic turrets and their BRX reticle.

I just saw in your other post that it seems like you really want the Z6 but the price is turning you away. I assure you the only major difference besides 1" vs 30mm is the 6X erector, but if its what you really want then watch for a used one. Euro Optic is always putting used and discounted models up on their site. They've got a few Z6's right now even but nothing like what you're looking for.
I've been wrong before, but I THINK the Z6 has better glass than the Z5.
I have a Z5 3.5-18x44 on my ULA 7RM and love it. I have the duplex reticle. I wanted the #4, but its very wide so in low light its really hard to see the reticle. The plex definitely isn't heavy, but its still useable in low light.
Excellent glass, amazing power range, and under 16oz. Mine's seen a several hundred rounds on an utlralight 7 Rem Mag and is still going strong.

Yeah, I have been going back and forth between the Ballistic Turret or the one without it that has the BRH reticle. I am now leaning towards the BRH since it will allow faster shooting at bucks passing through lanes and not sticking around long enough for me to dial. The BRH is the same as the BRX but only thicker. I don't want a fine reticle. That was one of the reasons I sold my Nightforce NXS NPR2. The reticle would get "washed out" if I stayed in the scope for several seconds. I would have to look away and then get back on the scope. I know the pros and cons and am much more comfortable with the heavier reticle, especially since the scope is not illuminated for low light shots. Camera Land has a demo for $1249. Hopefully, I can one at a similar price when the time comes to scope the new rifle.

I have very briefly used the same scope that you are looking at and here are my thoughts based on my (very) limited used:
Fantastic glass (very clear, very bright)
While the BT system was easy to use once set up
BT system leaves you with (I think) 3 zeros markers
The top zero ring was a little difficult to align due to its distance up the turret
The zero stop limited turret rotation to just under one turn which limited my available distance (I was shooting .223 at the time at about 450 at the time)
The internal components of the BT were plastic on the model that I used. That just struck me as odd, thought they would have been some type of metal.
Like one of the posters above, if I were purchasing the optic myself then I would skip the BT and get a BRX reticle.

I looked through a couple of these, the glass is great. If I were to get one, I would get the BT with the new 4W reticle. It has 2moa has marks for windage holds.

As for the durability of the BT system, who knows. It sure doesn't feel as good as a my NXS or Zeiss Diavari, but damn that thing is light!

BRH reticle is much better for hunting in low light.

I didn't know they offered a reticle like this, it must be pretty new. After seeing this I would definitely consider going with the BT turret.
We worked closely to develop the 4W reticle with Swarovski. It's available in all BT models currently. 2moa windage hold markers.
Oh and the glass is different between the Z5 and Z6. Z6 currently utilizes HD glass.

Doubt you'll find a better hunting scope for the money, i'm a real advocate of Swaro's stuff, if they ever jump into the tactical market, i'd be all over it like honey on Jessica Alba's ass

I'm with ya on that!
Don geracci was setting records with swaro. They track well. Rugged too. The owner dropped a rifle out of a tree stand. It caught the ladder rung on the way down and sheared the turret off. I remained zeroed.
IMHO it's the most versatile/intuitive system on a hunting scope.
