Just found a good deal on a TRG 42 in 300 win that I could not pass up. I was not prepared for this purchase and want to see if anyone one has load suggestions for what I have on hand (damn shortages are a bear) 178 gr A-Max and Retumbo. I am not opposed to buying another powder just damn hard to find. Had to borrow dies and buy brass on GB today to get me buy it would be a sin to let the new addition sit in the safe any longer than required

Also long term load suggestion for A-Max 178 gr/208 and Berger bullets is appreciated

    Thanks

208 AMAX with H1000 75 grains. RWS and Norma Brass
    200 Accubond hunting load, 79 grains H1000

    Right now I am running

    190 SMK 77.9 grains H1000 Winchester Brass

Has shot very well so far.

As far as Retumbo and 178 A-Max. I would just start low and work up.

i would hold on to those 178's....and congrats on the TRG, you'll love it.

Hornady 225's, 74.5gr Retumbo/ Fed215gmm/Win brass works very well in my TRG
Hornady 208's, H1000 at 76.5-77.0gr, Fed215/Win brass works exceedingly well in my TRG (single digit ES/SD)

IIRC, the Berger 215's and 74ish of Retumbo should be a winner as well.

both of these loads were suggestions from others' experience in their TRG's. 3.600" COAL +/-

have you tried the 215's,if so do you have the stock 11 twist barrel?

branson1369 if you can get some 4831sc start around 72 grains, its a nice mild load and should shoot awesome.

It has been a challenge getting components for sure I have primers RL-22/Retumbo and some of the follow bullets 208 A MAx, 178 Amx, 185 Berger OTM so I am doing loads for each until things go back to normal.

the 208's and retumbo is a pretty good combo (but h1000 is the way to go when you can get it)
