What are the good and bad of this optic for a 14.5 lw midlength ar in a rural environment ? Mainly used for yotes from quad or tractor, 0-300 yds

I had a TA-33-8 (red) for a little while, chevron instead of circle dot, but with the .223 BDC.
I loaned it to my brother to try out on the AR I sold him.
    I never got it back.
I really liked it; good glass, tough, with a useful reticle, but my brother liked it more.

Sweet little scopes. The green reticle is brightest, just for your info, but the horseshoe dot reticle is very fast. The true cross-hair reticle would be a bit more precise, but I don't have experience with it other than in a TA31. My first TA33 had the chevron and the second had the green horseshoe. Great in terms of clear glass and forgiving eye relief. Add a Larue mini mount and it's very hard to beat.

Sounds like a perfect optic for what you described. I have the TA-11 and LOVE it. A bit more eye relief, but the 33's are not bad. Good glass, tough as sh&t, for 300 and under you won't do better.

I need to find a ta11 to look through. They look too big for my little AR project, but the reticles, eye relief, FOV and magnification sound great. The TA31 I had was wonderful, except for having to hump it with my face to compensate for the SHORT eye relief. The TA33 is great in that respect, and I hear that the TA11 is, too.

I use a ta 31f with the red chevron for just exactly what you are asking . you really need to look through a couple of different models to determine which one best suits you . some people complain about the eye relief on the 4x , for me its not an issue others dont like the narrow field of view on the 3x acogs only you can make up your mind . the good side is you wont have to worry about knocking the optic out of zero or getting it wet. they are built like a tank and have very clear glass.

While I have used, and liked, the TA33, I prefer the TA11. For short range, I like the Aimpoints or Eotechs, but for versatility the ACOG's are second to none in a battle optic.
