Gunsmithing HS stock on Savage accustock

I have a Savage accustock 10FCP-K in 223 that I would like to put a HS Precision stock on. The model number of the stock is PST 114. Do these stocks fit or can they be made to fit the accustock barreled action?

Yes it will fit. Just double check your action spacing screws...they will be 4.4". The stock you linked does in fact work with a detatch magazine.

I thought it would fit as well, however the lady at stockys said the PST114 would not fit accustock models?!?

Also, my model has the bolt release in front of the trigger guard. Will I be able to change the bottom metal on this gun? Can I install the "older" top bolt release on my gun if I choose to change bottom metal?

Yes. You need to buy the appropriate sear and mill about .078" of the side of the receiver. I did exactly that - this receiver was off my fcp-k:

But then you will also have to buy new bottom metal...
The only inletting you need to do to the hs stock for your accustock bottom metal is widen the trigger guard area about .035 if i remember correctly. You can do that yourself with a dremel.

If you wanna go through the trouble of converting to the top bolt release, the sear part number is 105268($8), and although I'm not sure its necessary but it is a different part number than the accustock version, the sear pin p/n is 100223($2).

I recently put my Savage 12 FCV (accustock model with bottom bolt release) into a LRP takeoff stock (HS Varmint). Just lightly dremeled the trigger guard opening until it fit in smoothly. Notched the alum bedding block just a tad where the bolt release mechanism was lightly touching. Works great - no issues with the bolt release or magazine use with the original bottom metal.

Don't mean to thread jack here, but what advantage does that stock have over a B&C that comes in at 1/2 the price?

I just like the fit and finish of the HS stocks. I have had several HS's on my 700's and have no experience with B&C. Not bashing at all, I just have zero experience with them.
