Looking for a budget priced scope for my mid-range gas gun.
It is compact, ffp, lit reticle, and reticle can be used for quick holdovers.

limited adjustment???

I shoot some local matches and coyote/deer/hog hunt.
thinking about lightening up the rifle And going with a lighter mid powered scope)

Rifle (
18" AR 10
Noveske 18"
free float

Good option?
Better options? Why??

Sounds like a great option to me. Which reticle does it have?

This is the scope I have decided to get for my 5R. The G2DMR reticle will be interesting. However, I have decided to buy new simply because Bushnell's lifetime warranty is only valid for the original owner.

I have the Bushnell 6-24x50 version of your scope with the G2DMR reticle. I don't think you can go wrong, especially if you are getting a good deal on it. I think my Sightron has slightly better glass than my Bushnell, but the Bushnell trumps the Sightron in every other category - turrets, clicks, accuracy, reticle, and parallax adjustment.

An I reading it right that it only has 25 MOA/7.3 mils of elevation?

I have a 10 MOA mount. If the reticle is centered that should give me 21.5 MOA of elevation. With an 18" barrel and 175 SMks that will get me to approx. 650-700 yards.

How does the elevation work for you?

Do you use the reticle like a Horus?

The Bushy has WAY more than 25MOA; I think 20mil or so.

The place to buy new from is Liberty Optics.

Don't want to sound like gramar nazi, but seems you're wondering about Bushnell 3-12x scope (with unknown bell diameter). And link for the model would be great.

But the way you put a question - is 3x12 (3x scope with 12mm bell diameter) scope with FFP reticle any good for mid-range? Answer could be - No, 3x is good up for 300m for chest-sized target and since it has only 12mm bell diameter there are a lot of better alternatives.

I could never quite get a good sight picture from mine @ 12X when mounted on my AR10. Also the G2DMR is too small for use at 3x. Everything else about it is really good though, the image quality, tracking, reticule. 500-600 would be a fair price range for one.

Alternatives would be Super Sniper 3-9, Sightron SIII 3.5-10, Vortex PST 2.5-10 models, maybe a used leupold mk4.

I have this scope (FFP mildot). Just so you know, the G2DMR reticle is not illuminated, as the others are (mildot, BTR). On a rifle with a 0 MOA base that's zeroed at 100 yards (.243 shooting 105gr bullet), I get 8.2 mils up. I think they're a great scope for the money. I would agree that the G2 reticle would probably be too small to read at 3x. However, most people aren't going to need to read the numbers on it if they're dialed down that far (i.e. you'll be close enough to the target to just center it and make a hit).

The scope is a great way to go. The only negative I have seen is the Eye Box is not as forgiving as I would like to see. I love the sizes, the G2DMR, the glass is good, and the turrets track.

We sale Bushnell scopes and more, so if we can be of help let us know.

I really like the G2DMR above 10 power, at 6X its absolutely usable but at anything lower would be hard. I think you would be wanting more than 12 at the end of the day.

Vtb,
Thanks for contributing

I have the mildot version and overall I like it. Only thing I dont like is on 12x I have to be perfectly in line with the scope or the reticle disappears. Its very annoying so its been moved to my 22 bolt gun. I have heard of one other user that had the same issue as well. FWIW, this is the only scope of mine that has this problem. That includes SWFA 3-15, SWFA 5-20, Mk6 3-18, PST and other misc hunting scopes.
