I just picked up a used 5-25x56 PMII MTC, LT CCW with MSR reticle and am having difficulty zeroing. I called S&B's service center & left a message and figured I'd try here.

I made corrections for my initial zero and followed the manual by locking the turrets, loosening the 2 set screws, then unlocked the turrets moving the dials back to zero, then lock the turrets, tighten the set screws.... I know the turrets will still click while moving back to zero set points, but in loosening up the set screws it is not releasing the reticle and is moving the reticle throwing off my zero. I confirmed this by both watching the reticle move with the set screws loose and by firing after the adjustment.

I did notice in the manual the set screws pictured are 90 degs apart. My windage turret set screws are 90 degs out, but my elevation is 180.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is going on a duty rifle that I had hoped to go shoot a match with tomorrow.

Thanks

It's the third set screw, the one covered by plastic cap, that has been over tightened at the factory. It's become a very common problem, that could easily resolved at the factory, with more attentive quality control. The great thing is that S&B USA will fix with a very fast turn around. They're actually better at customer service than the factory is in Europe.

I called S&B just this morning to ask questions about the zeroing procedure on the Dual Turn model. The owners manual description of the zero procedure is screwy and needs to be re-written. The printed manual also doesn't have the pictures referenced through out the document.

But, when I called in, the phone was answered right away. I got all my questions answered, and learned some things that weren't even on my questions list. S&B was very helpful. :D

Thanks guys, it's all about keeping everybody up and running.

Got the issue taken care of over the phone so he's good to go now.
