Okay, I can understand why certain factory ammunition is still sort of hard to find, but when in the world will reloading components come back around?! Anyone have any idea?

HA. I bought what I thought would last me a lifetime back in 08/09. Late last year I was searching for some AA1680 for my 300 BLK and ended up backordering it. It took about 4 or 5 months to get here, but it finally arrived. I did however notice that the prices have nearly doubled for all the powders I use. I can't remember the projectile prices I paid back then, but I'm sure they're way up too.

What are you looking for?

It exists. You just have to wait a few weeks from places that let you back-order it.

This is pure manufacturing and logistics. December/January they probably had more orders in a 30 day time-frame that they have ever seen. Instead of lightening up after a month or so, the gun control bullshit kept kicking the can further down the road. We're still dealing with the supply issue that caused as well as the people that now buy 20lbs of powder and 20k primers at a time instead of making a much smaller orders in line with how often they actually use the components.

I've also heard that manufacturers are having use more components to keep up with the demand so the reloading market is suffering.

Basically the reloading market is the "step child" of the industry for the manufacturers and what they don't use for factory ammo gets put on the shelf. And then you have places like cheaper than dirt who sell Pmags for 100$ a piece doing the same thing to reloading stuff.

At least that's what I hear.

Sierracharlie out....

I hope everyone stocks up when everything stabilizes. I was caught by surprise after the first election.
I know I will be buying a few cases of 22and 9mm in the future.
Just an FYI. I bought my daughter a little pink savage 22 a few weeks ago at gander mountain and found out they have most calibers of ammo in stock behind the counter to only be sold to people buying guns. I ended up with a 1600rd ammo can of CCI mini mags for $119 a couple 333 bulk packs and even 2 boxes of 9mm even though I only bought a 22.
I am not sure but the ammo was cheaper than any tags I saw on the shelves.

Local shops out here in SOCAL appear to have everything except powder. I even received a call today that my surefire muzzle brake is in at Knesek so things are looking up.....I hope. Now those that have been without for so long are so pissed that they are going to buy everything they can get their hands on and start the cycle again.

I've been working on the elusive "life time supply" since about 1995.

I'm doing fairly well but would be crying, big time, if I was just getting started today.

back into their holes. Buying all ammo related items, even if they don't need them or can't use them. general hoarders and" free marketeers"

there are guys i work with that will go every morning when they get off work to wal-mart and local gun stores, every morning. they arent stupid, but determined. I wish it would stop though! I want some components.
