Trying to find out if anyone makes bottom metal for a Rem. 700 223/556 that takes AR15 mags ?? Yea I did a search and didn't find anything....

Mo Defina at Mo's Competition use to. Don't know if he still does or not. He's in Brookfield, CT

Google him and you should find him. Haven't talked to him in a while but as far as I know he is still doing stuff for HI Power match rifle shooters. He also use to make a conversion for bolt guns to take M14 mags.

Basically, No.

You have to modify a lot of things to get the round high enough to be picked-up by the bolt.

Save yourself a lot of time, headaches and money. Get a PT&G DBM and some AI .223 mags. The magazines may seem expensive but they're not at all in the big picture. The allure of having one magazine on your belt and being able to grab either an AR or a bolt gun is an illusion. Pick a gun and hit targets.

A+ for Dave Kiff and PTG, I have 4 rifles with his bottom metal and AI mags, I am just looking for a customers request for a rifle build coming up, if he has the money I have the time.....

I thought or dreamed of this type of conversion in 1993. I was living in California right after the whole original ban on "assault" thing went down. Then, right about the time I saw my first "Gunsite" Scout rifle it hit me. A .223 bolt gun using AR mags makes sense. I have yet to find anyone to do it.

My buddy just got one of those bolt action Mossburgs - uses an A/R magazine. I like it, feels great. The only part on the gun that looks/feels not so good is the little part of the bolt that hangs down to strip the round. That one little part looks fragile. Otherwise it looks like a decent gun for what it is. Genius on their part.

yes, there is one company that does make it and their website is www.dbmg.com
I looked into those and while thet are super cool, the max length in an AR mag is not long enough for my needs so I'll use the AI conversion instead.
cheers.
