How does one know when a barrel is shot... and not fault of any other facters...like wild shots, good group and wild again...?
What are some typical traights of a barrel going bad...Just trying to eliminate as many facters as I can, and am very stumped about what is happening. Two shooters, same problems with same gun. New scope, new stock, tried and tested load, great performance for both shooters one day, then wild shots for both shooters the next!??

Well the groups open up and thay normally don't shoot good groups then bad then back to good sounds like it might be your load giving you flyers

What caliber and app round count? Are you the original owner?

If you've put the last 500+ through that barrel then you should pretty quickly realize if its you or the rifle.

Thanks...just found out out at the range today that my scope was apparently vibrating loose...it flew off into my nose during recoil and blood everywhere!...guess that was the problem as I re zeroed it and shot tight again!...I have to stay on top of this vibration issueBETTER!

It appears you've sniffed out the problem, snicker-snicker. I wouldn't be kidding with if the injury was serious but as is I couldn't resist.

I've only burned up 3 barrels so I'm no expert. 2 of them went from 3/4 moa to 2.25 moa within days. I actually discovered this during a match both times. The other barrel was discarded when it wouldn't shoot 1 moa any more.
