Clamp on muzzle brakes?

Anything you hang on a barrel, and I am designing .300 win mag clamp on muzzle brakes right now, impacts the harmonics, the drop and obviously, the resulting POI. How much depends on the brake, specifically the weight, muzzle diameter, number and sizes of the ports and direction of same.

How much it impacts the POI which is all I would be worried about as long as it is consistent, varies by brake as well.

JMHO but on a High Powered Rifle anything that could work loose and end up in the path of the projectile at the muzzle just flies in the face of common sense Firearm Safety. I don't mean to come off as an A,H. but threading the barrel is not such a big deal and will serve you well in the long run. You can even buy the kits that assure the alignment between the thread and the bore (concentric) and Sears sells the 5/8-24 dies and handles. Do yourself a favor and at least consider doing it the right way. Talk to your local gunsmith, you might be surprised how affordable most of them will do it for.

What kind of kit are you referring to?

Let me dig through my links and I'll post it but it's a 5/8-24 thread on one end of a .300 shaft that goes into the bore, this allows the threaded end to guide the die concentric to the bore as you thread the outside of the barrel, (very important) stand by...

This is the one I use on AK-47s, I'll keep looking for the one I bought for the Remington SPS Tactical.
