Is.
I'm looking at getting one of the Brazo's custom handguns. I was going to stay with a limited, and a .45. I was wondering if anyone here who has gone the custom route can give me any advise. I would also like to here if any of you have one of his guns and a decent critique of every thing.
Thank You Gentlemen.

I have shot them along side my SVI. Both are quality, but I can't speak to either product as far as it concerns a 'Limited' setup. Mine was an 'Open' gun. Regardless, they are heavily used at IPSC events.

One thing to take note, and I'm not sure if it has changed at all, but you will be looking at about $500 for a set of tuned STI mags. IMHO, the SVI mags are made to a higher quality. I had a set of both; STI's have given me issues, but Bob does an excellent job tuning them. If you order a set when you purchase the gun, he will likely tune them specifically to your pistola.

Food for thought. Buy with confidence, but be prepared for a serious wait.

Forgot... I also preferred the metal lower half (SVI) over the polymer (STI). They texture the metal to be quite gripy, and it doesn't wear out like skateboard tape. It does come at a price, but if your already looking at $4K...why not?

Well, I've been shooting STI's for years, and have the following to match my production guns (CZ CUSTOM SHOP CTS 40 S&W). Don't have it yet, but it should be a real shooter. I like the fact that the slide is closer to the center of gravity and therefore the recoil moment is a bit lower than the STI. Just an alternative.

I have the official e-mail on the wait time its a year. I have instancey problems, but I like quality. I have though about the mags he will only ship one with the gun, so if you want any more $$$. I kinda like the though of putting something besides skateboard tape on my mags. What do they call that stuff? Thank You Gentlemen.

I know a couple guys who have a Brazos Custom Limited class gun in .40. They are awesome pistols. You will not be disappointed.

I have a Brazos Pro in 40. Great running and shooting pistol. You will be happy if you can stand the wait. I will have to disagree on the steel grips make the gun way to heavy for me.

Check out Akai customs. A lot of the USPSA shooters here in South Florida shoot his guns

Bob build a great pistol. He is also a great shooter and a solid dude.

Highly recommended.

However, STI/SVIs in 45 can be a pain to get running perfect. I would get it in 40.

I really don't want to go to a different calibre due too I have several too many now. I don't really like to 40cal. I would rather stick to what I know and get 45. I was contemplating after getting one build, to maybe drop the cash on a full open gun....I would do that one if 9mm. One of my current problems is I'm not sure of what type of rear sight I want on the gun.
