Finally got my Mcmillan A5 and Badger bottom metal. Very Pleased with the way the stock feels and looks. I had it inletted for the Badger bottom metal, and it fits perfectly. Torqued it down to 55in pounds and shot it today with expected great results. As it sits there is no pillars or bedding at all. I still have the pillars from the Badger bottom metal, but wonder if I should even use them? Seems to work great as it is. Wonder if someone could chime in with there experience of the combination. I cant find any info on the stock for Torque specifications, but I figured 55in pounds sounds about right.

Hook, Looks great great. Post up how it works.

Didn't get much time to shoot after work, well I did but spent most of the time at the range with my son. It was his first time shooting with his .22, and he had a blast. All I got off with the 308 was 100 Yards to confirm zero, and five shots at 300.

Very Nice!

How long was the WAIT from Mc Millan?

FN in MT

As long as it took to afford it lol. Didn't have to wait for Mcmillan It was bought from a local gun store.

I likey

I'm in process of a build right now and trying to decide between a5 like yours or a Manners t4

T4 is not lookin bad either. I almost got the T4 with detachable magazine chassis. Between holding the two I went with the Mcmillan because I personally like the look and feel better. Seems like people like the Manners quality just as much and sometimes more than Mcmillan too

Thats a good looking rifle, congrats. I'm in the process myself of building a rifle ( just waiting on my rings to get here) and went with the Manners T2 (only because I didn't want to try my hand at bedding on a $900 stock). Now if I can only find a range over 100yds in Orange County..

After I put the stock on I didnt even have to bed. After doin research and talking to Mcmillan, they said there is absolutely no reason to bed it. I know seems weird but it works just fine. If one wanted to bed it there is no problem doin it though. If you find yourself up in Ulster county let me know. The range I go to is 400 Yards. nothin crazy but it works for good load development.
