I know of the vertical ones, but is there any sort of lashing that is made to be fitted to molle and work horizontally?

What I am trying to do, is get a tripod attached to a row of molle that is 4 across and 3 rows high; was thinking I could do this with 2 simple pack lashings and work the lashings through the tripod legs a bit and cinch it. This would allow my tripod to be flush against the side of my ruck, horizontally and out of the way.

I've thought of ways to try and jerry-rig this with 550 cord, malice clips and some D-rings but it turns into a huge pain in the ass that may work the first time I try it and thats it.

Ideas? Someone has to have run into this before.

This may not work for you, but I had a similar problem and wanted a few straps horizontal on my pack. I simply threaded 2 straps down through 2 opposing rows of molle, which then made a makeshift row of molle in the horizontal direction (between the existing molle). I believe the straps I used were made by voodoo tactical. I just looped it back around back over the top of the webbing and buckled it, but I considered just riveting a smaller loop at each end. Milspec monkey also has a bunch of different straps to make whatever you need.

    Thats a whole lotta molle...
