20 VARTARG brass from 223?

Howdy small bore folks. I'm considering a 20 VT build and I'd like it if someone could detail the process and equipment used to form brass from 223. Yes I've searched this already and I have found only some general treatments of the process or details on using 221 brass or 17 brass.

I know Redding makes special order form dies for this, but I am wondering if it can be done without $400 in specialty dies.

So after the 223->221 FB die, could I then run through a 20 VT body die? Is the 221 form & trim die still available? My initial search didn't turn that up as an option.
