I shoot both the 455 American and the 455 Varmint,
swapping barrels and scopes as desired, depending on range and caliber.
In the woods an inexpensive CenterPoint 4-16x40,
at the range from 50 to 100 yards a Weaver fine cross hair/target dot T24,
and from 75 to 200 yards a Mueller side focus 8-32x44 target dot.
The mil-dot, heavy crosshair CenterPoint functions well when brush shooting.
No doubt where the crosshairs are, in shaded vegetation chasing small game.
If it can hold up to the beating it gets from my RWS 54 springer, it can take just about anything.
At 50 yards the clear glass and extremely fine crosshairs and dot of the T24
make it easy to quarter that center 0.10 inch dot in the bullseye of the "green monster".
At distances over 100 yards it's hard to beat the Mueller 8-32x44, especially at a price of $260.
Side focus, clean individual clicks easily felt from the turrets, very nice glass.
The target reticle and 32X capability makes it possible to see the tiny holes left
by the 17 hmr at 200 yards. It's not a Leupold or March,
but it is probably the best scope for the price, that I've used.
