There is a member here named STR, he has some good videos on this subject. Not hard to do, it just takes good instructions and some time.
Do a youtube search for "STR rifle bedding"

Bedding

Kuda, It's not that hard. Watch the videos and you'll get alot of different tips on each of them I had Manners pillar bed mine when they made the stock and I bedded it. I have bedded others before but not as pricey. Turned out great. Take your time and don't get into a hurry and it will be ok. There was a guy on here that did pictures on bedding and was very detailed. He went by winroscoe and every one said he did good work. Pics and instructions sure were good. You might try to contact him and see if he has any tips for you. Good Luck.

My only advice is to make sure your gaps around the barrel are right where you want them. If you are adding pillars, there could be some play there. It is not a hard job. Good luck.

It is pretty straightforward, especially if you're not adding pillars.

I strongly recommend you use DevCon Plastic Steel Putty over MarineTex or Accraglas. It is about the consistency of smooth peanut butter and is not hard to lay in so there are no air bubbles. Sinclairs/Brownells sells a package with enough to do a couple of stocks for $37.
Make certain to remove (Dremel) an equal amount of stock material under the action so the thickness of the bedding is consistent but DO NOT remove any material under the tang or the rear end of the recoil lug cutout as these have to be there to set the action in the proper place.
Modeling clay works great to fill the fill the gaps for the trigger and magazine.
I've used clear Kiwi brand shoe polish and PAM cooking spray (besides the spendy release agent sprays) and they both work well IF you coat every part of the action and barrel that contacts the DevCon.

This is a pretty good piece on doing a pillar install while also bedding the action. Stress-Free Pillar Bedding within AccurateShooter.com

Good luck.

DevCon Steel, Silly Putty from Wal-Mart and some clear shoe polish for release agent!

Its not too difficult, the key is prep work. It is important to remove the trigger, and plug all holes with clay (mag opening, trigger opening, pin holes, etc), as well as coating the action and barrel with a good release agent or wax. I found it makes bedding easier is to get some long screws that fit where the action screws go, and have them extend through the pillars so you can place nuts on them to tighten durring the bedding process, this keeps any bedding out of the action, helps you allign everything, and your net getting bedding in your action screw threads. Another tip is to use Q-tips and WD40 to remove any excess bedding when its still wet, it works wonders.

Here is a Rem stock I did recently

Do not use that Brownells Acraglass. I had a terrible experience with it. Very very runny and doesn't start setting up before it gets really hot and hardens (man that sounds bad LOL).

I tried bedding a 17HMR with the stuff and will never do that again. Ended up using JB-Weld and Kiwi neutral shoe polish for a release agent. I was skeptical about the Kiwi at first, but man it's $3 at Walmart and works great.

I actually used acraglas to bed my 10/22 but didn't need too much so it wasn't very runny but got hot as hell really fast.

When i later did my 308 i used acraglas gel and that was a whole new animal. Very easy to work with and stays cool.

Only thing i was briefly worried about is that it took long as hell to set up. To a point i actually came here to ask if i messed up.

The regular stuff set up in less than an hour.

Seeing as a bedding job is one of the last things to rush on, the gel is fine. I actually don't think i even pulled it apart until the following weekend.

To the OP, as people have said, the prep is key. The bedding is only as good as how meticulous you were in prepping. Rush it and you won't be happy. I spent hours getting my 700 where i wanted it before i even put it in the stock.

It went from shooting all over the place in the new b&c tactical to consistently shooting 1/4" or less at 100yds
