I just went out to finish sighting in and a small break in on new barrel, and I installed the new Brake and after 1 shot the Brake will loosen almost a complete thread. I know I can loc-tite it but I am about to go through the process of getting a can. It's a 260 Beanland build, and MTU contour. The gun doesn't move much capped, but with the M41 it's like a .223. They recommend 20ft lbs of torque, but it's still coming loose after the 1st shot. I wanna be able to remove it when I clean, so I'm not gonna pin, or epoxy etc..
BTW the threads fit good, and there's not much play at all in the fit. Any ideas?

I have the same brake. Get their spanner wrench from the site and torque it to speck. Shot my M41 all weekend and it works Great.

Good luck,
Merritt

Custom barrel work, bet that is square. I bet he needs to touch up the brake.
A good mate will not even require 20fp.
No different wrench will resolve your issue. Over tightening to mask the issue may damage your whole deal.
Its in the machine work.

I dunno, it has the coating on it and is wearing perfectly on the brake. I have torqued to 20ft lbs, and it will stay for the 1st shot, but then the next, spins it right off. I put a Vais on it and no problems. The M41 has helical ports, and I think the gas is spinning the Brake off. If the darn Brake didn't work so good, I'd run the Vais. I contacted R&D about the MRAD Brake, that can be screwed on, timed and tightened up. I may give that one a try if a small amount of blue loc-tite doesn't work.

Try it but blue Loctite is going to be in a hot place there. Rock set if you want to pursue that option. Google rockset.

Anyone know anything about the RAD Brake? The only problem I have with the M41 is my barrel at the muzzle is 1.00". (MTU @ 24". I was told that by using a RAD brake, that I could tighten it, and back it off to where it is clocked and clamp it down. I really like the M41 but should it matter if the barrel is a few thou. larger than the Brake? It doesn't look bad at all, and I don't wanna have to pay another $75 to ship it to a Smith, and even more to time it. Are there any other good Brakes that don't need timed, or can be clamped at the correct position? I've been through this before on BR rigs, and finally just went with a Vais, just don't know how a Vais would do compared to a large port Brake. Only have em on 6BR's 6mm's etc.
