I'm curious of preferences, trying to decide on which set to get. I noticed the Seekins lows are .76" and the Nightforce lows are .885" are these measured from the same spot? I want the height similar to the Nightforce lows.

Any recommendations welcomed.

The 1" lows are .76. NF doesn;t make 1" rings. The Seekins 30mm lows are .82". 30mm med are .87" and probably what you want. What scope and objective size?

NF A100 (Steel 1") and A101(UL 1") are both 1" Ring Offerings from NF.

Am I missing something?

Two different measurements. The mounting height of those rings is 1 inch above the bore, however, they are 30 mm diameter rings. I believe Rob01 is making a distinction between seekins and nightforce for the sake of comparison. He listed the 30 mm ring diameter offerings from seekins for comparison to the like offerings from nightforce. The seekins 1inch rings are 0.76" tall, but there are no comparable offerings from NF. I hope this helps.

I apologize I should have included it was 30mm tube - scope in questions is NightForce NXS 5.5-22x50, so if the measurement all mean the same the Seekins Mediums and the Nightforce Low will both get the scope to approx. the same height? Just worried about objective clearance, I have a NightForce one piece mount (.885 low) on it right now but I can't bring the scope back far enough for prone shooting comfortably so switching over to the Nightforce base and rings.

That's what I was assuming but I didn't want to get them and then they not work. I appreciate all the input!!

Have run both Seekings and NF,

Both are great rings. My latest set-up is sporting the NF UL because they were in stock at the time of purchase.

I run Seekins rings. They seemed like the best *for the price*. They were a bitch to find in stock though.

OP you can buy direct from Seekins Precision as well. They show 67 pairs of lows in stock right now.

Scope Ring

With money out of mind - Is there a quality difference between the two brands?

Both are very good quality but I like not having the large nut on the side in the Seekins and also they will save you some money.

Seekins are made from 7075-T6, NF is made from 7075-T6, steel, or Ti alloy, depending on which ones you get. I would guess the quality of machining is almost equal. My Seekins were very well made. I can't speak to the comparison between the two though.

i too like the sleeker appearance of the seekins without the nut on the side... NF is definitely great quality as well. NF also has the ability to get the level and the ADI on the ring as well if that matters to you.

I always used steel rings for all of my scopes, up to an including Badger Ordnance. With that said, I always had to lap the rings as well. Since I have started using Seekins rings, there has been no need for lapping, and there is superb scope tube contact with them. Seekins has never left ring marks on any scope that I have used as well. I have used both the mediums and lows, all in the 30mm versions. Seekins is the only rings that I will use now... period.

Go with the Seekins, and you can come back here and thank us!!

I like the NF UL's and use them on all my rifles. Other than the nut on the side they are about as slim and low profile as possible. Much less chunky than the MK4's I used to use. I have never had an issue with any of the ones I've used, but for what it's worth, I also use Nightforce scopes.

I have a hunting rifle being built now and have a set of Seekins and NF UL's waiting for it. The Seekin's are hair lower, which is why I went with them to complement the stock's low comb. However, I have the NF in case I decide the Seekins are not necessary. To be honest (and superficial), I simply prefer the aesthetics of the NF's. The Seekins are squat fat buggers.

I use Seekins on my .50 BMG, no issues what so ever! I do prefer them over all the other types I have used however with the top ring manufacturers quality is all there so really its down to availability and preference.
