Rifle Scopes ar-10 and Bushnell elite tactical 34mm

I want rings or a mount that will get me the lowest possible clearance. Will the spuhr sp-4001 work with 1.18" height? What do you guys think? Whats the lowest clearance in inches?

Measure the outside diameter of the objective bell.
Divide it in half.
If your AR10 has a full length top rail then you will need a mount/rings with a height greater than radius of the objective bell, plus another 1/16" (.062") or so if you are going to install a scope cap.
If the mount has cant, you will need to factor that in, with 20 MOA tipping the objective down roughly another 1/32".

If your AR10 does not have a rail, a DMR will easily clear most handguards with that mount.

Ok objective is 2 3/8, Half that is 1.1875. A mount that is 1.18 would be too short, so i would need a 1.2" or greater?

The one Badger makes fit just right with my 34mm tubed G2DMR on my POF when I had the continuous top rail. Seekins lows also work great on the same rig when used with a Badger 22moa riser. There is one for sale on here right now for $71

I also have a friend with the same scope on another flattop AR who just bought the 34mm JP unimount. There is a Benny Cooley 34mm mount for sale on here right now for $100 shipped and it looks a lot like the JP mount. If be surprised if its design didn't become part of the newer JP mount.

Not enough info.
Does your rifle have a full length top rail, or a handguard, the top of which is lower than the rail? Remember the bell is way out over the handguard.

Do you have the scope in hand? If so, stack a bunch of pennies on the receiver and then put the scope on top of them. Once you get the clearance that you need for your scope, measure the thickness of the stack of pennies with a set of calipers. Add 17 mm to that measurement, as most rings as measured to the middle of the ring and you have your height. My guess is that you will come out with a number close to 30 mm.

Yeah, 1.18" ain't gonna cut it.
Looks like the lowest one that will fit is #4006 (1.35" high) which will give you room for a BC flip cap plus 1/8" or so provided that's the right ring size... I guess the 4 in 4xxx is for 34mm?

The Bobro 34mm puts it like 1.59" centerline and I mounted my Steiner up with it on my AR and it works perfectly. I actually just listed an extra Bobro for sale today. It's a beautiful damn mount.

Unless you have no cheekbones whatsoever, if you use a mount much lower than 1.5", you will not be able to maintain anything resembling a proper cheekweld. There is a reason why most ar dedicated scope mounts place the scope about 1.5" over the rail. Anyone who tells you otherwise either has a deformed.face or has horrible form.

I run the Seekins 1.25" X High rings on an OBR that has a continuous top rail and I have .070” clearance between the sunshade and rail.

Yea I have an ace skeletonized stock and dont want to be resting my jaw on my stock to get a good view through the scope.

I just went through this exact same thing 6 months ago. Looked at all the options, and came to the conclusion that the Badger 1 piece was the best option.

After Installation, there is a cunt hair of room left between the bell and the rail, It's Perfect. Granted you won't be able to use flip covers, but they are for pole smokers anyway.

Its badger after all. For what it is, It's a steal and nothing comes close in that price range unless you want to spend twice as much. Its light, slim, and machined very well.
