Well I just placed my order for a T4A, and I'm wondering if I should have gone with the GAP camo? the rifle is base colour OD? Thanks

Thanks! that's a very good pic BTW, and I'm seeing the OD in the pattern, I'm a big FDE fan, but I think that with the OD green action & barrel, this stock will work. Cheers

Keith at PCR told me that the OD Cerakote they had didn't really match the stock. Just make sure your smith can match the color and you'll be good to go. I was originally going to go with O.D. but thought the brown would be a little different

Yea, well mine (Stiller Tac 30) is already Gun-Kote in OD, it's coming out of the AICS 2.0 that is OD. I like the brown though, good choice.

Good god man, do you know what flashing that around will do to a man in my condition? I already have the Manners Mud Camo-itis. I don't need to see the Woodland with a Mud Barrel. That is fantastic.

Strike33 maybe you can talk a bit about the DBM? I gave them a google but there wasn't much there?

Actually they stopped production. They have a piston that puts pressure on the magazine The action has to be slightly machined for this. It also ejects the mag a bit to make sure it drops out. I like the mag release, I've never like the large lever style such as the Badger. I would also go with the APA, R&D or Surgeon. But Defiance had them along with the EFR for 50% off so I figured I would give it a shot

Thanks, kinda interesting the "piston" idea,I'm going with the Seekins, as it's ambi and I like the "push button" over the lever like you.

I went looking for a Seekins when there was an issue with the inlet from Manners but could not find one anywhere!
Sounds like you're putting together a slick rifle

Well I've been using the AICS and it's just too heavy for me, well made stock though. I found that I liked the "ergonomics" of the McMillan A5, so I thought I'd give Manners a shot. I see you have the folder. When I went to use the "stock builder" function on Manners site, they have a "left hand" option, however as I found out, much to my dismay, it's only for the inletting. Hence switching gears to the T4A.

I hear you on weight. My .300 is in a Cadex and fully loaded the thing is 19lbs. Much like you I wanted a lighter option, built this one to ride nice and snug in an Eberlestock.
Looking forward to your build. Unfortunately Manners is a bit behind right now. I think mine came in close to 2 months after the initial approximate completion time. Well worth it though

Sure, the Cadex is "big money" but very well made. I'm thinking I may? hear from them in Dec? but I'm in no hurry. I really would have liked the "folder" but that's the druthers of being a "southpaw" LOL Seekins DBMi like "hens teeth" to find. I lucked out that my "smith" had some on hand. I'm hoping that the AICS .223 mags work, and aren't too snug?

Hey troops, on average what is the build time that owners have experienced? 16 weeks? does a "lefty" take longer? Thanks

Strike, you are killing me. That gun is beautiful. I really want to try on of the Manners folders. The ONLY thing I would change is a medium palma barrel contour.

If I were to do it again, I would lighten up the contour a bit. It's heavy but balances pretty well. We'll see once I can get some glass on top

When do we get to see pics of your new stock?

Anybody else got some more pics?

I've got a build in the works with a woodland T4A and I'm trying to pick a cerakote color for the barreled action that's a bit more unique. I've done a bunch of stuff in OD,FDE and graphite black and although they great with just about anything, I'd like to mix it up a bit.

My problem is I've never laid eyes on the stalk to see what would be a good match and I'm going to leave this coating to my smiths guy. The painter won't be seeing the stock either.

It was gonna be OD green. Now it's sniper grey but I was thinking desert sage or something like it might be cool too..........

Looks like the camo color combo fits your location perfectly Strike. Which NV mount is that though? Im new to the whole night shooting and was thinking of something like this for pig hunting when I go down to GA.

What buttstock option is on this rifle? It looks like it allows for lenght adjusment
