How are things at MPA?

That’s wild, what color option did you use? Just trying to think of what would have taken that long since like I said I had my rifle within a 2 month + some days period.

Just had the barrel cerakoted black. What took so long was the 1-8 barrel

Haven't had my dashers have sticky bolt lift but my 6.5x47 cut slightly short did. I didn't know it at the time but a local gunsmiff cut a benchmark barrel for me slightly shorter than typical so when it developed a carbon ring at the throat, I had sticky bolt and primer issues.

Clean it up, make sure there isn't carbon ring.

Yeah that was the first thing I looked for, of course there’s always a little bit of carbon but nothing major, I clean about every 100 rounds since that’s usually one day at a match. But even right after cleaning in the first 5-10 shots to re check zero and get velocity’s I’ll get stuck cases.

I’m finally getting around to the 2nd firing on my brass and am having some very hard bolt lift. And so far have had 2 primers blow. I been in touch with Keith at MPA to try and figure out what’s going on. We thought it was the SAC die I was using cause I told them I bought the “Alpha” spec sizing die since it was chambered with an alpha reamer to which he replied he did not realize they even had an alpha reamer in their shop. Not many of their rifles are chambered with it apparently cause Keith and Phil told me face to face at the Kahles match this past weekend that they don’t use alpha reamers. We know it’s not any wrong doing on powder charge since I’m running a pretty standard load for a 6 dasher running at 2840. I will say tho they have been nothing but helpful. Keith is personally sending me some virgin Peterson brass to try and even one of the sizing dies they use. Just hope to get to the bottom of it cause I really love the rifle.

Maybe it’s used more than what they think? Idk, now I am completely new to most of this so I don’t know anybody at MPA and what their rolls are really. Not upset at all about since I have heard alphas reamers are top notch. I sent some pieces of my brass out to the guys there at MPA for them to take a good look at so I’ll wait to see what they say.
