Need a couple good combat shirts...1 in Multi cam and 1 in OD green. Would like to buy Crye Precision, but really don't want to spend that much. I would like to have one that comes with a zippered neck. Any Suggestions? Quality is a must, these will be worn hard.

I found a couple cry precision multicam combat shirts on eBay a few months back. Got 1 for $35 and the other for $39. Both brand new, never worn with tags still attached. Might want to check there.

Currently use the issue Patagonia shirts, so far they are great! Not sure where they are for sale but if you can find some should be a little cheaper than Crye and every bit as good.

Thanks, in going to check them out. What about the 511 ones? Apex, you stole those shirts, there not that price anymore.

My God! I just checked eBay for Patagonia. That shit must be made with good thread. $600+ or -. Crazy!

Do they absolutely have to be multicam and OD? Reason I ask, Sportsmans Guide has some British ones in their desert camo pattern that you could dye. They're well made and pretty inexpensive. Would be worth experimenting with.

Yes, uniform purposes. I meant Gold thread, up above. Why would those shirts be worth so much more, really? They must stop bullets or something? Lol!

$600 WTF? I have never seen anything that crazy before, don't know where to get them but I do know they are less $ than the Crye CS.

I know! I couldn't pass them up.
You could alway checkout the Massif combat shirts. I have a couple of those, they are pretty comfortable and well made. I like them as much as the crye precision ones. They just don't have a zipper. But you can find those on eBay around $30. Doesn't hurt the bank to try.

Ended up buying a surplus British multi cam shirt and a Tru spec OD Green shirt. Hope they work out. Thanks for the input again. I will definitely check out the Affliction lineup for next time.

New balance makes multicam combat Shirts that hold up fairly well that can be had for $30ish. But I have to ask, if your using them for serious duty, how are you not getting issued them? We had them issued in 2007, pretty much everyone, even rear echelon guys get them now???

This is not for military purposes. The combat shirts are not issued out to us. We use a regular 511 tuck in green long sleeve shirt and a BDU style for the multi cam uniform. Both of these are not the most comfortable things in the world especially when worn under a heavy vest. Of course you know this already from experience. The combat shirts will work and I can wear them as long as I payed for them myself.

BTW: When I was in the service, these weren't even thought of yet...lol!

Oh ok, I gotcha.
They are far more comfortable when wearing a vest! I saw new balance combat shirts on eBay for $19 the other day, and they are pretty good. I like my Crye CS better, but I didn't pay for it either! I'm with you, $600 for a shirt? Sounds like something a female would do!

I think they sell 5.11 in the PX. The one I have is tan to match my pants that I wear for competitions, but I think they come in other colors. Anyway, the shoulders have these weird looking gussets (they look like Star Trek shoulder pads or something) but they provide total freedom of movement and are quite comfortable, a huge plus. They take pads in the elbows like the pants do in the knees (a big plus for me when I shoot and have to get down). I think they are a huge improvement over the issue combat shirts, and I forget how much I paid but I think it was around $50 on sale, maybe even less. Worth looking into.

Incorrect. Real operators don't wear shirts. In fact, they don't wear anything but a shemagh wrapped around their....head.

Man, Now what to do!! I know, I'll just wear a Dale Earnhardt camo t-shirt with cut off wranglers and redwing boots. Oh, I'll also grow a mustache...a really thick mustache. Now that's hardcore, and as bad ass as it gets. Lol!
