Would you put a new crown this barrel?

It looks ok to me. The ding on the outer edge shouldn't hurt anything. The important part is the part where the bore is. How does it shoot?

It does not shoot very well, but I have not done spent any time developing a load for it.

I't never hurts to recrown a barrel PROPERLY , even brand new factory guns will often benifit from it

Looks like a new muzzle crown is in the future of this rifle. It is a prewar Steyr Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1903 carbine in 6.5x54 MS.

If it isn't shooting well then a re crown is a good place to start before a possible rebarrel. There might be some very small imperfections in the crown that can't be seen easily. Try it and let us know how it turns out.
