Rifle Scopes Scope recommendations for a SIG 716

Just picked one up and want to put a scope on it. I want to use the gun mainly in the 2-600 yd range for paper targets. It may be used for hunting deer, for that locally I would never have anything over a 300 yard shot. I would like to stay under $1000 for the scope and rings package. If I go over a bit it isn't a deal breaker. Thanks in advance for the help.
