Im looking into either the vortex 4-16 hs-t which is a SFP or the 4-16 pst which is the FFP.

I know that the hs-t's mil reticle will only be useful at the highest power for ranging/holdover and the pst's will be useful at any power. But I don't mind not having a useful reticle at every zoom power, as long as I can dial in the correct yardage with the turrets at any zoom power.

I mainly hunt and I want to get into long range shooting but I don't feel like I'd really have enough time to go through the whole process of ranging and what not through the scope while hunting. I might have enough time to maybe dial in a yardage at the +300 ranges so as long as the SFP turrets will do this I don't feel like I need to spend the extra money on an FFP. Any long range shooting I'll be doing with my 7mm will be in a very controlled situation and I could keep the scope at the highest power and then utilize the reticle.

Anyone have any recommendations or insight?
