Who's the dirty BASTARD that turned my scope down over 4MOA last time I shot?

I thought it might be the fouler and test loads of 115DTACs I was shooting that was getting my poi down over 4 MOA, but when I shot my usual load of 41.6grs H4350 & 105 HPBTs and they hit in the exact same spot as the 41.9grs H4350 under 115s I knew something was amiss. You can't tell me 10 degrees temp would do it, also. Some dirty cocksucker flicked my elevation turret down 16 clicks before I left the range on 31st Aug. I'll never know who did it unless the bastard admits to it. Here's the target, my poa is up over a foot at the same exact type of target.

You don't leave a car battery wired to you're turrets to prevent this? Shame on you, it's not THAT much extra weight!

Stick with irons, harder to manipulate incognito ;)

How the fuck can you not know you're 4 Moa off of your zero? Doesn't matter if someone finger fucked your turrets or not you should still know your equipment.

The only one to blame is yourself, don't really understand the purpose of this thread other then to rant. Most shooters will confirm turret adjustments when moving from one position to another. Good luck in the future

Cheers

When you're at the range you don't think anyone is going to fuck with your shit. Am I supposed to memorize where my turrets are because some asshole wants to see how my Sightron scope works? Like I said, I thought it was kinda off when the 115s hit over a foot low at 300yds, when I shot the 105s, I knew then for sure.

It's been zero'd at 300yds ever since the last 600yd BR comp was done in early Aug, why would I have to look at my turrets, my wife doesn't mess with my rifles.

Yea you need the Nightforce zero stop turrents for sure.
Don't let other folks play with your scope/rifle.

This is pretty much where my turret is at right now, I shall remember where it is from now on. Older pic taken in early summer when the rifle was about an inch high at 300.

So who's going to stop the guy next to me from messing with my stuff when I go down range 300yds? Range master can't do it all.

I understand.
Hope all works out for you

I'll be fine, was thinking I might've zero'd the rifle at 100yds last time I shot but I know I didn't do that, I have been doing a test with these 2 loads only at 300yds, Im sure I know the person that did it.

Use a data book and these things wont happen, after putting in my environmental data I check my rifle in relation to my last dope and then let the dry fire commence.

Always lock it in your car etc or put it in its case and lock it, you go 300 yds away and some one could walk off with it and your out of pocket big bucks,

john

Uh...really? You know what that Zero on the turret is for? That is supposed to mean "here is your zero" If I walk away from my scopes, and come back, I can tell if someone has been turning my turrets. No zero stops needed.

I really can't believe this is anything but some inside joke you are running with some of your range pals. If it isn't, I would not have posted this.

Pesky little turret trolls. They sneak out occasionally from the under the bench.

I wouldn't joke about something like this. I've never seen anyone mess with another persons equipment at our range, it's run by the Park dept for the county, they have a fulltime rangemaster when the range is open, nobody puts their rifle back in the vehicle when they go down range. I dont have any pals from the range on this site, as far as I know. They'd be on Benchrest.com

I guess I could lock the turrets, think that's what that hex head is in the middle, right?

You don't move your turrets back to zero? Why a 300 yard zero? That screw in the middle of the turret is so you can reset back to zero once you have it zeroed at your preferred distance. I was really hoping this thread was a joke as you are wasting bandwidth with this nonsense.
115 DTACS are inferior bullets now that the Berger 105gr Hybrid is on the market. Don't waste your time with them. I loaded quite a few and ended up pulling them all.

This is absolutley fucking retarded. Gorski you should be banned for blatant abuse of a tactical shooting forum. If you're not smart enough to know where your dope is set at any given moment you shouldn't fire the weapon.

Why would you not have your rifle zeroed at 100yd/m and dope for 300yd? If you want a 300yd zero then why don't you have your turret reset to zero at your 300yd dope? This is dumb as fuck. Maybe YOU fucked your turret adjustment up seeing how you have no idea where it's supposed to be how do you know you didn't manipulate it somehow since you last shot it.

I'm confused why you don't set your turrets to "0" once you zero your rifle in??? You're complicating the process if you don't...

At every range I've ever been to, there is absolutely NO handling of ANY firearms during CEASE FIRE /check targets. Range officers are pretty strict about no one finger fawking a rifle at all when shooters are downrange to check/hang targets! That would include messing with a scope on a rifle.
Severly doubt anyone messed with your stick while you were downrange, they'd have prolly gotten an azz-chewing from the RO for even getting close to a rifle during CEASE FIRE...

No excuse for not checking turret zero.

What a waste of a fucking thread. One of only many that leave a guy thinking what the fuck is the point here...

The guy downrange that aims a goddamn pistol or another rifle back uprange at his head and tells him to back the fuck off the gear. I consider myself responsible for anything that happens with this shit. Pay attention.

Seriously, that's a big safety violation. Our rule is don't touch the weapons at all when downrange. So if it was touched, don't feel too bad, since someone else fucked up way worse than you did. Lucky he fingered the turrets, could have been the trigger.

Don't let people touch your shit. In absence of rules, make your own, ie, at shoot at risk ranges or the woods.

An old high school ROTC rifle team trick to jack with your opponents when they are not looking. Walk by the rifle rack and casually and randomly twist knobs, any knobs. We were taught to return to zero after each match and apply the correct come-up each time we went to the line to keep from getting caught by juvenile stupid-shit.

I Say This Is a Hoax, Either that Or those Weapons need to be Removed from Your Possesion, I have never left a Weapon at the Range with the Bolt in it and I never Take my eye of the Area Of My Weapon Or I ask someone to keep an eye on things for ME,

Yea for real. If someone was A. fucking with my gun without permision and even worse, Fucking with my gun while im down range, someone is taking an ambulance ride. Your "RO" needs to get his shit pushed in if he is letting shit like this happen. If there is no RO, then you need to find a new place to shoot.
