How would you rate these two scopes in comparison to each other (i.e. glass, functionality, etc.)?

Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 vs. SWFA SS3-15x42

Would be going on a custom 300WM used mostly for hunting (max 350 yds) and fun shooting (max 600 yds). Yardages noted would be typical and may vary.

Thanks

Thanks OpticsPlanet.

Still looking for a comparison between the two in regards to glass, etc. and using these for the application I mentioned in my original post.

I had the Weaver and just picked up the 3-15 so I can't do a side by side comparison but can give you comments on both. The Weaver was a at first my favorite lower end optic. The reticle was useable, glass great for the price point and the resetting turrets were very nice. It held zero well but did not stand up to the use I put it through. I used it on my back up duty rifle and it spent a lot of time in the field. I had a repair issue and had to send it in, twice, and the CS was not very good. Hard to reach anyone and long down times between sending and receiving. I think for a range gun or something not getting beat to hell it would be just fine. The SS seems very good but I am not a huge fan of the reticle even though I am used to it from my 5-20. I have not shot the 3-15 yet but from what I remember the glass is not as good as the Weaver. The Weaver held up to side by sides with my SS 5-20 and was a bit clearer them my NF scopes (not including the ATACR) and the 3-15 has no illumination if that is a consideration. If it was me and the use was a range gun that was not going to get dragged, banged and kicked around then I would give every edge to the Weaver but if durability and CS is an issue at all then the SS.

Thanks

Leupold M3 or the Sightron S3 that I had would both work well for that.

I would give the edge to the sightron in terms of quality but I really like how fast the M3 elevation dial is
