I still have a few days before I take off, but I already can't sleep thinking about the hunt....thought I would photo bomb the site with some previous hunts! Good luck this fall!

Heading in to Wyoming in the Bridger Tetons with and elk tag, either sex - no spikes, and a wolf tag. Going to hunt in the Thorofare country, they are getting some weather right now, they had atleast 10" on the ground before this last storm hit, excited about the possibilities!!!

Taking the 6.5 SAUM suppressed Looking forward to getting a kill with the can!

It is an absolute hammer! 5 round group 100 yards with 130 grain 130 Berger HVLD's.

The happy hunting ground!

Can't wait to get up on the mountain!!!

My mind has been up there for the last month! Work has been REALLY hard to focus on, especially now that it is getting so close, I am like a little kid at Christmas time! :)

Do you have any interest in adopting me? That looks like tons of fun

LOL, Yeah, we have a good time up there, going with family up there, bunch of crazy cousins getting together to hunt, drink whiskey and lie to eachother around the camp fire! Doesn't get any better than that!

It's snowing hard right now. That's a long ass ride in, hopefully the snow isn't to deep for you guys. Good luck, pump those wolves with some lead too!!

Yes it is! 25 miles one way! It is a painful ride for me, those fuckers are used to horses and they handle that long ride way better than I do as they are around horses alot more, but it is worth it getting in there, and the snow actually I think will help provided the trail doesn't get too f'd up. I think that will get'em moving out of the park and I damn sure am going to try on the wolf thing! Fact is if I saw an elk and a wolf in the same area I would shoot the wolf first!

6.5 SAUM VS big game is stacking the odds in your favor! Good luck and have a safe hunt!

I would have to agree with that statement, this thing is a shooter now that I found and OAL that my rifle likes! Thank you sir! We always have a good time and sometimes we even put down some game! Looking forward to another awesome hunt! A bad day on the mountain is better than the best day at work! (especially down here in the asphalt jungle) I am going to pack in a trail camera this year and set it up on gut pile (provided we kill something) and see if I can get some good Griz pics! There are a ton of bears in there, too many for my comfort, thus the 454 Casul "Raging Judge" that will be on my hip/pillow! :)

Would have hated to be that buck that took a bullet from that .50 haha. Looks like fun, getting excited for my bull hunt as well.

great pics, love the scenery. Definately better then what i'm staring at currently

The funniest part of that BMG kill was when I squeezed the trigger, l lost my sight picture, my cousins had been spotting for me through binos, when I turned around to get feedback on the shot, I saw my cousin Chris who had literally jumped 3' in the air and yelled "you got that sombitch!" I about pissed myself! Good times.

Good luck on your hunt!

Great pics hognuts. Look forward to seeing your review of the 6.5 SAUM doing the work.

I am really looking forward to seeing how she does as well! My friends help me put that thing together and put in a lot of time helping me sort out some accuracy issues which turned out to be an OAL issue with my ammo, there is a lot of interested parties on this one! One buddy also has a 6.5 SAUM build in the works. Hopefully I get the opportunity to put it to work! Good luck to y'all this fall!

Thank you sir. You and me both! I am in Vegas, the only good scenery we have here is at the titty bars! Pretty nice peaks down there! :)

well if you remove the city from where las vegas is it would be similar... afghanistan is pretty much just dirt that is way above sea level with some random trees and rocks thrown in

Yea, I will quit bitching now! We at least have some titties down here! Thank you for your service and good luck on YOUR hunt!

Is it Sunday yet? Now I am worried I may have to drive. The Black Hills are having Blizzard warnings with a possibility of 2' of snow. My luck my flight will get canceled and I will be flying Dodge Airlines! :)

More photo-bombing, sitting here hoping that the Rapid City International Airport, hair care, and tire center is working over time right now getting that snow off the run way cleaned off! I have a flight to catch in the am dammit! (airport is currently closed....looking more and more like Dodge Air is going to be flying out of Vegas in the am!)

Interesting duo of rifles in that last set, hognuts. What's the idea? One for distance and one for personal work?

Right about now you are MAKING me wish I win the Powerball Jackpot. Nice pics of beautiful country, and I hear you on having a good time with friends and family, it just doesnt get any better.

Yes sir, I pack the "heavy gun" in the scabbard on the pack and carry in the "brush gun" in case I trip over one on the way in or out for a walk, I set the heavy pig up on a high spot and wait for an opportunity, the brush gun is for if I have to take to the brush to "kick'em out" Twice now the brush gun has paid dividends on mule deer. (kind of agrevating if you want to know the truth! :) after I carried that heavy pig in, my cousins ended up using it to kill their deer from camp at 500+ and I ended up getting mine in the brush with the lever 30/30...go figure! :) ) Happy hunting!

Sitting in the stand yesterday, I snapped a couple pics with my phone. This is the gun I'll never let go, it was my Granddad's, still has his sling too. 788 in 308, I did change the scope to a Japanese Weaver 2-10x38. It's about 250 yards to the woods, look closely and you'll see another ladder at the other end, in case the wind is backwards. The scope was on about 4x

I made that longggg ride back into the Thorofare. They have grizz back there but I was told if you shoot one, you'd better have claw marks on you.
I saw what they can do to a camp.
