Bought this as a rifle ready to go and had them put a BO thruster brake on it. Here are the rifle specs:

Templar action (notice the bolt is on the correct side!)
    25.5" Bartlien #4 contour barrel, 1-10 twist
New McM hunter stock. Dedicated left hand. This thing is awesome. The checkering is very aggressive - it'll be great with gloves on.
    X-mark trigger
BO bottom metal running accurate mags

After break-in here's the load she likes: 79gr H-1000 under a 208 AMAX. Puts me averaging 2915 fps with an ES of 12. The group shown is a 5-shot group @ 100y. It's right at 1/2 MOA. The Schmidt sits a little higher than I'd like but I bought a Triad stock pack and bingo: problem solved. I love the H2CMR reticle. .2 mil wind holds will come in REAL handy. As pictured (minus the bipod) it weighs in at 12 lbs. A 36' fladbed trailer makes a great shooting bench!

    Range update:

Man, GAP rifle never cease to amaze me! Here's a 3/4" 3-shot group @ 342 yards I shot this evening - best group I've ever shot at intermediate distance. The target is a 66% IPSC plate bought from Big Dog Steel. The head is about 3 inches wide. 208gr AMAX's over 79g or H-1000 - puts me at 2915 fps.

Nice rifle for sure, that 208 is hauling the mail. How does the thruster do in terms of recoil reduction and also kicking dust up? Got a fte and while impressive on recoil it is quite a leaf blower. Makes me feel good about my stock tikka sporter260, shot a 5 shot@325 that measured 1.25". Looking at putting a brake on it, on the fence between a thruster and ops inc . Ran the ops before and liked it, just don't see them used much here compared to a thruster.

Not sure about the dust but the recoil reduction of the thruster works well. It's a very pleasant shooting rifle. A 1.25" group with a stock Tikka is freakin awesome. My dad owns a couple of them - swears by them. He has a 7x57 Tikka that shoots lights out. You might take a look at the Vias brake for that contour of barrel. Of course, that one really kicks the dust up.

Thanks, it is actually in a xlr so not technically a stock tikka. I would say if the thruster works good on that light of a rifle with that load it's got to be darned effective. Roger that on the flatbed, have shot on one of those and a hay wagon. Gotta love improvised shooting rests from farm equipment.lol. My favorite was popping yotes from a combine. Cutting beans with auto header control and step out on the catwalk and shoot so yotes wouldn't freak when the machine slowed to idle.
