So I just got this off the hide a week ago, came in today
everything looks good, unwrapped it put it all together and plugged in the power adapter, pressed the one button and nothing

tried every outlet I could still nothing

no idea what is going on

help?

Time to call RCBS and see if they will fix it... I had issues with mine and they charged me around $75 to fix it because I was 2 weeks past the warranty date, and its good to only the original owner. So, in other words, looks like you have to pay on top of what you paid for it to be repaired...

If it wasn't disclosed as non-functional in the ad, then I'd be requesting a refund...

seller said works very well, I am really thinking its just a damaged power adapter, called RCBS earlier and they already put one in the mail for me

If you have a digital multi-meter, you can measure the barrel connector for voltage and see if it works, just to rule things out.

My adapter/wall wart 'states' 9v DC at 1000ma/1A, but measures with no load, at 13.2v DC, with center 'hole' being '+' and the outer sleeve being '-' DC.

Just talked to another friend who has the same unit Chargemaster 1500 combo

he told me that my power adapter/transformer is not the same one he has, rather his transformer says "class 2" power supply while mine does not

could that be the problem?

You'll see an input and output number: voltage/current on the label.

Maybe you should provide us that info?

yes sorry for the delay

Model: AD-48091000
Input: 120AV AC 60Hz 0.3A
Output: 9V DC 1000mA

that's all it said on there, no class 2 or anything

So, basically what I have.

Now for the next step.

If you have a DMM, set it to read 20v DC, or close to that and take the red '+' probe and with the wall wart plugged in, insert it into the barrel connector and make contact with the inner metal wall/contact surface. Touch the black '-' probe to the outer metal sleeve and see if you get a bump.

If you don't have a multimeter then just look around your house and see if any of your AC power adapters have a 9 volt output and see if it will power up your Chargemaster. I have a Hornady case prep trio and the second time I went to use the unit the Chinese power adapter died. I had a spare power adapter of that voltage and output so I didn't contact Hornady and have them send me a new unit "made in China".

My spare unit works fine and was made in Malaysia and even the power adapters made in Taiwan have higher quality standards than mainland China.

Chinese manufacturing motto, Cheaper, Better, Faster..........................Lying bastards

Or go to Radio Shack and buy a suitable power supply. Not expensive.

Good Luck,

so I just got back from my friend's house
plugged his power source into my RCBS Chargemaster and nothing....

so it's broken
well this sucks
any ideas on what to do?

Did you try reseating the scale to the dispenser?

If you did, removing the two and reseating the connection 'port' and it still doesn't work, contact the seller and/or RCBS.

Those are your only options, that I can see.

Same here no power
Worked fine this morning then would not even come on when pressed……nothing totally dead.

Holy thread resurrection…..

Ya they break. Made in China. My first one went down in about a year. Rcbs upgraded me to newer model and that’s been serving me well since 2012

Make sure you have power at the outlet. Mines tied into other outlets. If I pop the GFI on those my scale outlet is down as well

I have power to bench outlet the overhead light is on. Tested it also in different outlets dead. I hope it’s just a power supply. I have had my Chargemaster since introduction in 2006. I still have my 10-10 scale as backup (blow the dust off it) and me. Now how does this 10-10 scale work ? Just kidding !

If nothing else I’d say you got a decent amount of use out of it

Ok we are back up now ! Panic Attack is over !
RCBS Chargemaster is working !
Sprayed alittle WD40 in the power supply plug in and let it set overnight cleaned the outlet
It’s working now great re zeroed/Cal it’s perfect.
Yes working the 10-10 brings back a lot memories but calibrated perfect . How slow it was ! Thousands of rounds have went thru that Chargemaster since 2006.
Thanks all !
