Looking at these 3 scopes. I know the premier and s&b have great glass and can be picked up used like new $2800-3k .

I'd really like to buy the March but need some input before dropping $3350 on a new one. Is the glass as good or close?? I like the weight savings and its alil over an inch shorter so that's a plus .

Anyone that has one if these please chime in I'd like to order one ASAP .

Im usually a March fanboy.
However the fact that the 5-40 has 0,05mrad clicks leaves alot to be desired for me.
Of those three I'd probably end up with the 5-25 PMII but I'd rather have a 3-24x42 March (and I do, sold my 5-25 PMII to fund it..)

I would go for the Premier, I love the Gen 2XR ret, and also like the knobs/click feel on the premier above the others.

So, you had a Steiner 5-25 correct? what didn't you like about that? I've had enough time behind S&B's to know it is my gold standard, however, I need to fund two 5-25's so I picked up a Steiner and hopefully it fits the bill good enough to pick up another.

I'd consider the Klein or H2CMR non mtc S&Bs. A few of my shooting buddies have had great success with these. Needless to say I have glass envy. Great eye box, clean glass, great reticle (usable/not cluttered with shit) and solid build construction.

Best of luck with your decision.

I would say both the new khales and Steiner are awesome. Actually they are all awesome! Go with the best deal

Been behind all three. S&B still wins for me.

If March had done 10 mil knobs/.1 mil clicks on their 5-40 and moved the enormous mil line numbers over some on the FML1 reticle my choice might not have been so easy. At least they have 10Y parallax.

Everyone has different preferences. What rifle is this optic going on? I own and use these three optics. I like the March turret design, the tactile feel of the clicks, and the glass. However, all my other scopes have .1 Mil clicks whereas the March FX has .05 Mil. That alone has caused me to screw up at distance with complete misses due to quick adjusting and forgetting about the half value (as compared to my other scopes). Although I do enjoy having nice optics from various manufacturers...I would most likely be a better shooter than I am if I chose one brand/model.

I will repeat what others advised...try to find people near you with these scopes. Go and see them for yourself and make an informed decision.

Ordered the 5-40x56 March today after talking with a few owners that felt glass was on par with the rest and own both. Mainly because its 1.5" shorter almost and lighter with more power .

I loved my Steiner but longer and reticle kind of thick.

Ill let you know what I think once I recieve it. I had a 5-25 s&b once so we shall see how it compares Friday when I get it.

Thick at 25x or all the way thru?

I'll be using it mainly in the 18-20x...
