And he picked a dandy! After a mile long stalk, and crawl through gumbo mud and cactus, Shane settled in prone from a nice overlook, and made a perfect 417 meter shot with the GAP 6.5 SAUM.

He taped 15", with 7" bases, with good mass all the way out, and prongs that measured 6", and had 1/4" of ivory on both horn tips.......not too bad for a 13 year old!

Tell Shane great job on the first of many to come! Crazy that our kids are old enough to hunt already, damn the time is going by too fast! Looks like you guys had a great hunt!

He killed a whopper mule deer buck too.....but that's another story.....grin!

Congratulations on your son's speed goat!! I plan to take my 6 year old boy, Reeves, out of the whitetail woods and up into the high plains next year for an antelope hunt.

That is a really nice buck, can't think how it could get much better - congrats to the both of you!! Always look forward to your pictures this time of year - looking forward to the muley post:)

Congrats Shane and Pat! Beauty of a speed goat there, a young man shooting em dead at 417 meters means there's going to be less animals in MT in the future!

Great job Shane! Nice shooting!

That's an awesome antelope.

Good job Shane!...you're off to a great start. Congratulations to both of you.

Great buck!!! Make sure you guys enter the youth drawing. I've been waiting to hammer out a couple final small details but will post the thread soon. Take care,

Adam

Wow! Nice goat and congrats to you both!! What does the buck score and any other pics? I love trying to judge antelope, I feel it might make me a better judge in the field.
