4K down and Two Years Time = No Rifle

No Communication post down payment - I mean NONE.

Requested status three months ago. To date none received.

Polite and patient for 24mos, but have little left.

Just want the nightmare to be over with.

When first researching the purchase Tactical was nice, GAP was rude, went with nice and got screwed.

Last year purchased a GAP Spec'd the same and love it.

Should I ever receive the tactical I will put them head to head and put my feelings aside and give them a comparison for all to see. If it out shoots the GAP I will say a sincere Thank You, but the poor customer service simply cannot be excused.

The GAP was also less expensive and the quality has shown itself to be stellar.

I can't speak for their customer service but I have one of their rifles. I bought it second hand with 100 rounds fired. It shoots excellent.

I have a maxim.... only scumbags and scam artists come from Florida. I don't do any business with anyone from Florida. Just not worth it. And no, I've never been to Disney.

Easy Tiger. There are good and bad people everywhere without exception.

I own a TR ... .

I had a custom M40 T7 made by TR. My dealings with David Rooney we exceptional. The gun they delivered was even better. I had a left handed M40 in .308 with a 19' barrel.

All I can say id that this rifle is everything and more than promised or I expected. The worst thing about this gun was the anticipation waiting for it, and now after thousands of rounds through it, I have no regrets, it was worth the wait.

I am shocked and more suspicious of some "negative" feedback. David Rooney and his team are the real-deal, and have provided, and continue to rifles to our Military men and operators. I think their repeat business is so much more of a testament than that of an AVID long range shooter and hunter, who does his homework and research, and was lucky enough to get a rifle made by TR.

I'd have no worries on ordering a TR rifle ... I'd even be confident that dependent on the specs & caliber you order, if you are 100% satisfied with it, and it passes a modicum of an inspection that it hasn't been abused. I'd buy the used gun off of you. :)

In short, I love the rifle, and trust that David and his team will furnish you with a rifle that will exceed your expectations.

Sounds like a love affair.

Wow! That's both hilarious and sad at the same time. Close-minded much? I notice that you don't bother to identify where you are from, so I'll assume that you're one of them thar scumbag scam artists my Momma told me about, that come a-trollin' around lookin' for a flame war.

Like STR said...

Talk to Bug Holes. Southern Precisions Rifles I just got my new rifle yesterday, he answered all my E-mails promptly.

take your build money and wipe your ass with it, then roll it up and cornhole it, then wait 30 minutes and shit it out in the toilet, then flush it. Better way to waste money than with those assclowns

Shill much?

Seriously. I've dealt with a company (Shooter's Depot in Corpus Christi) who uses these same tactics to compensate for their shitty way of doing business. It's not difficult to see that they are setting up accounts to make their business look better. In the end you are only hurting your company when people find out what you are doing.

You are full of crap! Get out of here!

Same two year wait plus. They are very easy to get along with when they don't have your money. After they have your money the communication is marginal at best. I have seen many posts concerning this same company. I have noticed every time someone shows up to sing their praises with a sub 10 post count. There are many smiths on this site I would send my money to. This would include Blackops tech, GAP, Longrifles, SAC, and a few others. If you spend some time in this forum you can see who builds a good rifle and gives a damn about customer service.

good luck
R

.

So you are saying that they build rifles for the military??
only elite top secret super classified secret squirrels I'm guessing??

I ordered a rifle in early 2011 and I still don't have it. As others have said here, they are great to speak to when you are working up a build. Once the order is placed, you are on your own. I was given the now infamous 8-10 month build time when I placed my order. As requested I didn't call or email with questions about the build progress during that time. Once I had made it to about 14 months I decided to give them a shout and see what was the hold up. I was told that "this level of custom rifle takes time to build and that they are at the mercy of their vendors". I was also told that calling and asking for status on my build would only serve to slow the build process down. Basically I was told that I should stop calling and when the rifle showed up... it will show up and that's that. After many more months and me thinking that I was never going to see the rifle I called again and was given the same run around. This has gone on for nearly three years now. During every conversation I have had with them other than the first calls leading up the build I was treated as if my concerns were trivial and I was be unreasonable asking for a simple status on where the build was at.

If I ever get the rifle, I will consider it a miracle. It's easily been the worst experience purchasing anything in my ENTIRE life. I have never been treated so poorly by a company, EVER. Had they been honest to me up front about build time, it would be a completely different story. I was always taught to under promise and over deliver, this is something that they obviously don't understand.

IF I ever get the rifle it won't matter how well it shoots, how good it looks, or how well it's made. The experience leading up to receiving it (if I ever do) has been so horrible that shooting it will only serve to remind me of the nearly three years of agony waiting for it. And the series of patronizing conversations during that time.

This has been my experience with them and how I feel about it. Others may have had better experiences. Either way, is it a risk you really want (or need) to take?

Hmmm....

You'd be better off buying a factory Remington or Savage. Not bashing those manufacturers by the way.

There are pictures and videos of their work here on the hide. Take a look at the evidence and I think you'll spend your money somewhere else.
