XLR is coming up the first week of November. The day before the class (Nov 4) I'll be doing a session on our preferred software system, Field Firing Solutions. Would there be any value in doing a live video stream of this class? How many people would be interested in seeing that, and perhaps some of the range sessions? Does anyone have a suggestion as to a service provider for such a project. something you've used before? Skype seems to be one option, Camstreams another. I'll keep this thread updated, as we go along.

I have sat in on the Live Stream of this class, it's an awesome way to get a refresher, or to see what this software can do for you. A few minutes listening to Cory and you'll immediately see how this program blows away an "apps" you are using.

If you have any interest in Ballistic Software, sit in on this ...

I would like to sit in on this, however I'm sure ill be busy. Any chance of recording it and posting it somewhere. I would be willing to pay also. I have been running FFS for about a year and it is very accurate, but there are some features that I don't know how to use. So please keep us updated on whatever you decide to do.
    Thanks,
    Adam

I've got a buddy who does this for all the TARS billiards events in Vegas. I sent him a note asking what he would recommend, as soon as I hear something I'll post his response.

Personally, I'd like to see the classroom portion

Definitely in for seeing the FFS class, either live or later. Live would be cool so we can ask questions that will undoubtedly arise while we are learning. Willing to pay for the experience as well.

CoryT: this is what my guy had to say:

If the stream has to be protected or pay per view I use a AudioVideoWeb as a provider
There are other options that cost less but the security is not as good
It is possible to use Ustream for free and password protect the stream but I would have to look into the details of that
If they don't care about the public accessing the stream then Ustream is the way to go.
Its free and quality is usually good. They will run ads in the stream though
There are other free providers such as JustinTV but I am not familiar with them. I have been using Ustream for free streams and AudioVidedoWeb for pay per view since 2007

They should be careful because there are a lot of providers out there who are simply resellers of content delivery networks. They make a prtty website and then charge high prices for the same services
If they have any questions let me know I will be happy to help.

My PPV Provider: Broadcast online, Web/Internet broadcasting, PayPerView, Flash | Win Media Hosting | AudioVideoweb.com

Free provider: Ustream ? The leading HD streaming video platform

Thanks Papa, the UStream option looks pretty good as a test bed. What I can do is also record the display and audio as I go, then perhaps we can make a DVD available at some minor cost for the disk and postage.

Any more info on the possibility of the Live Stream of this class?

    Cheers
    Jeff

I'm going to test a UStream this weekend, if it works, I'll post here. The class will run starting 0800 Monday morning, I'll be recording it for rebroadcast.

    "Live stream of the class"

    or,

ATTEND the class, then you'll apply the principles and practices discussed in the classroom time. The range time is what makes this course World-Class.

Thanks for what you do, Cory.
