Given the severity of his injury, it's amazing how calm and composed he is. Shock can be a very powerful sedative.

Amon mckneely is a crazy guy. He does lots of big wall scents in Yosemite. If i recal correctly this is not his first incident with BASE jumping.

Ummm...jeebus. I'm not sure he's even in shock...breathing was even enough, no jitters, didn't seem to have the shakes. I would have loved to be there taking his vitals and see what his body was doing just then.

Fuckin' nuclear bomb sized nuts that guy has.

He's Running on pure adrenalin sitting on that Talus waiting for evac. .
Damn Tough to watch . Not because of the blood & bone, he is tough and he will pull threw and get on with life . But it's really tough to watch because That my friends is Prime example to what throws a little monkey wrench to 'Quality of Life' when you turn over 55 - 60 - 65 years .

He's not in shock. Yet. What you are seeing is a man very used to taking risks and managing unexpected problems. He's still too busy working the problem. It also serves him well that has a high pain threshold.

Yep, that and he was also still rushing from the adrenaline plus the endorphins, the reason he does what he does in the first place. He may also have a med kit. I know when (if anymore) I go into the wilderness I take a very extensive one, but I know there ain't an ambulance coming out there.

Grade IIIB Open Tibia Fibula Fracture... hmmmm...he needs surgery...
